Hello, James Lanning here.

Since you have the Riven 5 Conspiracy site, I'm writing to you. I believe I may have hit on the reason why 5 was chosen to be so pre-eminent in Riven. You may have read it on my site (most likely not). The reason (in theory) is because Riven was Cyan's fifth major releaseof all time, and it's greatest of all time.

Here's the chronology:
1st. The Manhole
2nd. Cosmic Osmo
3rd. Spelunx
4th. Myst
-----------------------
5TH. RIVEN
-----------------------

You can read more about Cyan's previous releases by visiting the RivenLegacy portion of the RIS.Oh, since everything (D'ni, Myst, and Riven) started with the virtual present and worked back in history, five is eminent in D'ni culture for the same reason as in Riven. Tell me if you think this theory is plausible.

I think that is a very plausible explaination but is there a hidden agenda for the whole thing? Ghen seems a powerful man and maybe his influence has reached us here even from his prison.

Next time your travel down one of the Interstate Highways (in the US,) see if you can find an Eisenhower Interstate System sign. They happen to be blue and have on them five five-point stars arranged in a pentagon, each star at a point. At a glance it almost looks like Ghen's Seal.

Hopefully more can be uncovered as the weeks unfold. Don't give up the search.
