Die Frage nach dem in Maria von Nazaret personal-konkreten marianischen Prinzip greift eine zentrale und umfassende Dimension des trinitarisch-kreuzestheologischen Denkens Hans Urs von Balthasars auf. Sie wird in einer werkimmanenten Interpretation als die der Welt von Gott her im Voraus zu ihrer Erschaffung und im Voraus zu ihrer suendigen Verabsolutierung je-neu eingestiftete Sieghaftigkeit ihres durch die ewig-reale Bereitschaft des Sohnes zur Kreuzeshingabe gewaehrleisteten Erloestseins bestimmt. Als die ewige Eroeffnetheit der Schoepfung fuer Gott gewinnt dieses Erloestsein im unbefleckt-solidarischen Jawort Mariens zur Menschwerdung des Sohnes und in seiner zeitlichen Entfaltung als gehorsame, jungfraeuliche und arme Annahme ihrer universalen Sendung als Mutter und Braut des Erloesers seine personale Verwirklichung, sodaß die Existenz Mariens - im Unterschied zur vorkonziliaren Privilegienmariologie - von Anfang an auf die im Kreuzesereignis vollzogene Unterfassung aller Erloesten durch Maria-Kirche hingeordnet ist. Die von Balthasar vorgenommene Integration des Marianischen in das Ganze des Heilsgeheimnisses zeichnet sich somit dadurch aus, daß sie nicht nur - wie die Kirchenkonstitution des Zweiten Vatikanums - die Zugehoerigkeit Mariens zur pilgernden Kirche hervorhebt, sondern daß sie zugleich auch ihre spezifische Stellung als unverzichtbares Urbild fuer das Kircheseins aller Glaeubigen und zusammen mit ihr die Notwendigkeit der Verehrung Mariens als wesensgemaeßen Ausdruck ihrer eigenen marianisch-kirchlichen Verfaßtheit einsichtig machen kann.

Asking for Mary of Nazareth as the personal-concrete Marian principle concerns an essential and comprehensive dimension of the Trinitarian theological thinking of Hans Urs von Balthasar. In an immanent interpretation of Balthasar’s opus this dimension is characterized as the moment of triumph within the eternal-real willingness of the Son to bear the Cross. This moment is previous to the creation of the world and previous to the fall and it is inserted to the world by God again and again. As the eternal openness of the creation for God this salvation is realized personally in Mary’s immaculate and solid ‘Yes’ to the incarnation of the Son and in it’s temporal unfolding as the obedient, virginal and poor acceptation of her universal mission as the mother and the bride of the redeemer. This means that from the very beginning Mary’s existence - differently to the view of the Mariolgy before the Second Vatican Council - is straightened to her second conception at the Cross, where she becomes the mother of all the saved. The special features of Balthasar’s way to integrate the 'Mariology' into the whole of the mysteries of salvation are that they not only point out Mary’s belonging to the church on her pilgrimage but also her special position as an unrenounceable original for the faithful and their way of concretizing the church. This means that Balthasar is also able to explain the necessity of venerating Mary by the faithful as a true expression of their own Marian-ecclesiastical constitution.
