Life in the White House Videos

Take a look at these State Floor videos narrated by White House Curator William Allman.

The Blue, Green and Red Rooms received their names from the textiles used for draperies, upholsteries and carpeting in the 1820s and 1830s. After the 1902 Theodore Roosevelt Renovation, the walls were covered in cloths that further emphasized the color of the room.
