PIKE COUNTY'S BOUNDARIES

Pike County: 1843 - Present

On 06 Feb 1843, Pike County and Jackson County (formed in 1816 from parts of Ross, Gallia, and Scioto Counties) exchanged parts of eastern Jackson and Beaver townships in Pike County with western Scioto and Harrison townships in Jackson County. Neither Pike nor Jackson lost total acreage in the exchange, with Pike County realizing its final border status: 440 square miles in area.
