Welcome to St. James's Church
Join us for the coffee hour in the Parish Hall following the Sunday 10:00 am high mass. If you are a visitor, please sign our guest book on the entrance table or fill out a welcome card (in the book rack in front of each pew) so that we can welcome you. Place the card in the alms basin at the offertory. Child care for those under five is provided in the Nursery downstairs. Restrooms are downstairs as well. |

Definitions: Pentecost
The Day of Pentecost is a Christian festival day observed on the seventh Sunday after Easter. On Pentecost we remember an event that occurred to the disciples 50 days after the Passover in which Jesus was crucified and 10 days after they watched Jesus physically ascend into the clouds.

Definitions: Metanoia
If you have ever spent any time at Saint James', you know the word Metanoia -- as we use translate it here at Saint James' -- is Greek for the sudden and complete turning around of one's life. Suddenly and completely as from darkness into light; as in 180 degrees.

Weekly Message: May 29, 2003, Dearly Beloved
I hope I will see all of you tonight at 7pm for the celebration of Ascension Day. This is a principle feast in the church year celebrating the mystical reality of the incarnate Jesus Christ taking our flesh into the very being of the Godhead. And, leaving with his people united to him and one another through the water of baptism, the gift of the empowering spirit of God and the challenge of continuing his mission in the world. Do come and praise God for these wonderful truths and opportunities. Join with us in worship and in fellowship.
