GAUGE: In St st- 14 sts = 3"; 26 rows = 4" with larger needles.                      CHECK YOUR GAUGE.  Use any size needles to obtain the gauge given.

To Fit Chest:  20 (22, 24)".
Finished Chest Measurement:  24 (26, 28)".

Working Measurements: Width across back = 12 (13, 14)"; length = 14 1/2, 15 1/2, 17)"; sleeve length = 12 (13, 14)".

BACK:   With smaller needles cast on 58 (62, 66) sts.  Work in ribbing as follows: 

Row 1 (Right Side):  K2, * P2, K2; rep from * across.
Row 2:   P2, * K2, P2; rep from * across. 
Rep Rows 1 and 2 for 2" inc 2 sts on last row, end Row 2- 60 (64, 68) sts. 

Change to larger needles and work in pat as follows: 
Row 1 (Right Side):   K10 (11, 12), P2, K5, P2, K22 (24,26), P2, K5, P2, K10 (11, 12).
Row 2:  P10 (11, 12), K2, P5, K2, P22 (24,26), K2, P5, K2,  P10 (11, 12).
Row 3:  K10 (11, 12), P2, K2 tog, yo, K1, yo, sl 1, K1, psso, P2, K22 (24,26), P2, K2 tog, yo, K1, yo, sl 1, K1, psso, P2, K10 (11, 12).                                                                   
Row 4:  Rep Row 2. Rep Rows 1-4 for pat until 9 1/2 (10, 11)" from beg, end wrong side row.

Shape Armholes:  Keeping continuity of pat, bind off 5 (6, 7) sts at beg of next 2 rows - 50 ( 52,54) sts.  Work even until armhole measures 5 (5 1/2,6)", end wrong side row.

Shape Shoulders:  Bind off 13 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Bind off rem 24 (26,28) sts.

POCKET LINING (Make 2):  With larger needles cast on 15 sts and work in St st for 3", end P row. Put sts on a holder.

LEFT FRONT:  ** With smaller needles cast on 30 sts.  Work in ribbing same as back for 2" dec (inc, inc)  1 (1,3) sts on last row, end Row 2-29 (31, 33) sts. 
Change to larger needles and work in pat as follows:
Row 1 (Right Side):  K10 (11, 12), P2, K5, P2, K10 (11, 12).
Row 2:  P10 (11, 12), K2, P5, K2, P10 (11, 12).
Row 3:  K10 (11, 12), P2, K2 tog, yo, K1, yo, sl 1, K1, psso, P2, K10 (11,12).
Row 4:  Repeat Row 2.
Rep Rows 1-4 for pat until 5" from beg, end wrong side row.

Place Pocket:  Keeping continuity of pat, work across first 7 (8,9) sts, put next 15 sts on a holder, work in pat across the 15 sts of one pocket lining, work across last 7 (8,9) sts. Work even in pat until 9 1/2 (10,11)" from beg, end wrong side row.**

Shape Armhole:  Keeping continuity of pat, bind off 5 (6,7) sts at beg of next row- 24 (25, 26) sts. Work even until 3" above armhole shaping, end right side row.

Shape Neck:  Bind off 8 sts at beg of next row.  Dec 1 st at neck edge every row twice, then every right side row until 13 sts rem. Work even until front measures same as back to shoulder, end wrong side row. Bind off.

RIGHT FRONT:  Work same as left front from ** to **. Work 1 more row.

Shape Armhole:  Keeping continuity of pat, bind off 5 (6,7) sts at beg of next row- 24 (25, 26) sts. Work even until 3" above armhole shaping, end wrong side row.

Shape Neck:  Bind off 8 sts at beg of next row.  Dec 1 st at neck edge every row twice, then every right side row until 13 sts rem. Work even until front measures same as back to shoulder, end right side row. Bind off.

SLEEVES:  With smaller needles cast on 30 sts. Work in ribbing for 2" inc 2 (3,4) sts on last row, end Row 2- 32 (33,34) sts. Change to larger needles and work in St st, beg K row, shaping sides by inc 1 st each end of 5th row, then every 6th row until there are 46 (51, 56) sts. Work even until 12 (13,14)" from beg, end P row. Bind off.

FINISHING - Button Band:  With right side facing and crochet hook, work sc evenly down left front. Work 4 more rows sc. Fasten off. Buttonhole Band: Mark positions for 5 buttonholes along right front. Work 2 rows sc same as for button band across right front. Work buttonholes on 3rd row as follows: Ch 1, [sc in each sc to marker, ch 2, skip 2 sc] 5 times, sc in each sc to end; turn. Next Row: Ch 1, [sc in each sc to buttonhole, 2 sc in ch-2 sp] 5 times, sc in each sc to end; turn. Work 1 sc row even. Fasten off. Sew buttons to left front to correspond to buttonholes.

Neckband:  Sew shoulder seams. With right side facing and crochet hook, work 2 rows sc evenly around neck edge taking care to keep work flat. Next Row: *Ch 3, skip next sc, sl st in next sc; rep from * across adjusting as necessary at curves and at end. Fasten off.
Place center of sleeve top at shoulder seam and sew in place. Sew upper 1 (1 1/4, 1 1/2)" of sleeve sides to armhole bind-off. Sew side and sleeve seams.

Pocket Ribbing: With right side facing and smaller needles, work across 15 sts on holder as follows: K1, K2 tog, P2, [K2,P2] twice, K2-14 sts. Work 3 rows in ribbing, beg Row 2. Bind off. Sew sides of ribbing to front. Sew pocket lining to wrong side of front.
