A genealogical friend had purchased twelve Prince Edward Island Cemetery listings. Nine did not have indexes. The other three had indexes but were not complete: middle names had not been included (F. Lulu Bernard was listed as F. Bernard and those listed as Major Frank McKay were entered as Major McKay); and names that appeared on stones but were not buried there (eg. John Smith, 1822-1876, husband of Mary Jones - John was listed Mary wasn't).

Five cemeteries listed at http://www.rootsweb.com/~pictou/cempei.htm were also included.

A cumulative index of 14,500+ names was produced from these 17 cemeteries. The twelve purchased cemeteries and many more listings are available from the Prince Edward Island Genealogical Society. This index will only include the names of people, the cemetery and stone number - no dates or other details will be given. This index is modeled on the Ontario Cemetery Findng Aid (OCFA) and all entries are in comma delimited form.
