TUESDAY 10 JUNE 2K3 | SPOT

I am terrible at self-promotion. I am the introverted yin to my mother’s extroverted yang of relentless horn tooting and bell ringing. All her efforts to teach by example, to instill in her daughter the kind of bullet proof self confidence that breeds success, somehow backfired and rendered me hopelessly sales averse. Indeed, words such as ‘pitch’, ‘hype’ and ‘plug’ sort of creep me out.

However, since our helpful editor recently left RotoVision to join a non-profit organization, and the PR person’s idea of marketing seems to consist of firing off a single email, the task of promoting our book now falls to me. So here it is, the most effusive sales pitch I can muster:

If you are interested in the field of motion graphic design, perhaps you will enjoy our new book, now available from Amazon.com, or wherever other RotoVision books are sold. After all, at this writing, it the 74,000th best selling book on Amazon.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
