ICNA  Tarbeyah Plan  for Islamic Workers

Tarbeyah at the Personal Level

Syllabus of study.  ICNA and MAS TARBEYAH Departments came up with a 3 level TARBEYAH Syllabus about 3 years ago. We have mailed this syllabus to the MGA's. It is available in printed form and CD's. We have not been able to implement it effectively in the past.

Therefore for the rest of 2003 we are implementing the study of  TARBEYAH GUIDEBOOK I. This guidebook is available on our ICNA web site in Tarbeyah Deptt. Please download it and make copies for your MGA’s. Its study should be completed by Nov. 2003. We will send you a questionnaire by the end of Nov to be answered and scored. . Personal reports must include the progress of study of these courses.

Personal Plan of TAZKEYAH and TARBEYAH. Department  is asking for  daily planning  by the  individual workers ( including personal study, studying with the family members, personal Ibadat, Zikr, dealing with others, fulfilling the responsibilities, Sadaqa etc.). We should develop habit of planning at the individual level, implement it, and evaluate our progress. This will help us to gauge our progress in the path of Al Islam and help us to do self Muhasaba. Please include a report on personal planning in your monthly report form. Insha Allah in 2004, we will come up with a personal diary to record the plan and activities.

Tarbeyah at the Local Level

We have following types of local meetings and we suggest  their purpose and function.

* NEIGHBOR NET (NN) MEETINGS.  NN is basically a basic Taleem, Dawah and Akhuwwah unit to achieve these goals collectively. Program should consist of  a- collective study of Quran  b- study of one Hadith or one Seerah or uswah story c- Dawah activity. Frequency of these meetings could be weekly or less often. A quarterly meeting of NN in the city or the zone could be arranged for a major Dawah effort. Programs and efforts are to be made to develop personal brotherly relations among the workers. We should also focus on skill development. Organizational dynamics are to be understood and organizational skills are to be developed.

* WORKERS MEETING. ( MONTHLY OR BIMONTHLY). This should be our main TARBEYAH vehicle at the local level. Program should include:

a- A short presentation on the selected Ayat of the month. At least 3 of the Ayat be memorized by the workers and be recited in the next meeting with Tajweed.

b- A short Hadith study of the month which should be memorized and be recited in the next meeting.

c- A short review of the Book of the Month from the Islamic Movement literature. At least 10 pages be read by all the workers and then discussed.

d- Review of the major projects.

e- Suggestions and opinions.

* MGA Meetings. ( Frequency could be determined by consultation.) These are primarily for organizational, planning, follow up and Muhasaba. Personal and departmental reports are to be presented and evaluation of the work is done.(  A write up on the desired goals, objectives and qualities of MGA's will be attached.)

Tarbeyah at the Regional Level

We will have at least one Regional TARBEYAH Camp in each region. TARBEYAH Department members are assigned the task to develop the program and arrange the camps with the assistance of the Regional Presidents. These programs will be weekend long starting on Friday and ending on Sunday. Attendance of the MGA from the region is mandatory. If someone likes to be excused, he must ask permission from the Regional President.

Programs will consist of

a- Uloom of Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, Aqeedah.

b- Islamic Jamaah and Movement.

c- Islam in America and contemporary world situation.

d- TAZKEYAH.

All the regional presidents kindly come up with the dates of RTP in their respective regions within one week so we can have at least one program in each region.

Tarbeyah at the Central Level

We will have following programs at the central level.

a- Leadership Development Program. This program has been successfully conducted at Detroit on the weekend of May, 10-11. Alhamdulillah. We will have all the PP presentations exhibited by the speakers on the ICNA Web.

b- NN Coordinators Program. This program will be  arranged in Oct. in Atlanta. We will have the detailed program chalked out and send to SG for circulation.

c- Program for advanced studies. We will coordinate with the ICNA Scholar's Council to come up with a program of advanced Islamic Studies for one week in Dec.2003. Syllabus will include Uloom of Quran ( Tajweed, Tafseer), Hadith ( collection, classification, authenticity, muhadditheen and their work), Uswah Rasool(SAW) and Sahaba(RA).
