Dinosaur Adventure Land (DAL) is receiving many hundreds of visitors
every month. Hundreds have come away with a view that science
(including dinosaurs) is a gift from God to bring us closer to
Him. That is why we exist.
If you like what we are doing here and
would like to help here are some ideas:
Prayer- Pray for God’s
leadership, blessing, provision and protection. We are, without
apology, a Christian ministry trying to fulfill the command of our Lord
Jesus Christ to win souls to Him and teach them to glorify God.
Please add us to your prayer list.
Bring or send people- We want
to grow and reach out to more people! Our best advertising is
word of mouth. You can plan picnics, family reunions, class
outings, youth activities, field trips and even overnight campouts at
DAL.
Donate Time- There are always
scores of projects going on in this unusual ministry. We have
about 30 fulltime, hardworking people on staff here. Nearly every
department could use a boost once in a while. You may want to
volunteer your time or talent to help for a few hours or a few
days. For example: you could help us build new buildings, build
displays, grounds maintenance, painting, computer games for web site or
science center, see list below.
Donate finances- Those
businesses, churches or individuals who support DAL with a one time
gift of $1,000 or more will have their name placed on the supporters
board by the highway. For only $500/year your name, or the name
of your organization or loved one, will be placed on one of the
brightly colored dinosaurs on the fence around Dinosaur Adventure
Land. You can even sponsor a day at DAL. Those who sponsor
a day at DAL for $2,000 may set up a display for their ministry or
business and we can both advertise that everyone gets in free because
of your generosity. Any gift large or small would be a help to
our ministry as well as letting others know you support our efforts
here.
Donate or loan items of interest-
We are always looking for ideas or items that we can use to teach
spiritual truths or demonstrate God’s design in nature. If you
can think of any please let us know.
As our next building nears completion we need (or would like) many
items to improve our ability to teach and present the truths of
creation. Below is our working list of needs, wants, dreams and
sometimes bizarre ideas. We add to this list often.
We need seashell, butterfly, insect, etc collections for display
2 binocular microscopes, 10 large magnifying glasses for kids to use.
For our fossil dig pit, where we teach children how to sift for
fossils, we always need thousands of small polished rocks, sharks
teeth, pretty seashells etc for the children to “find” and keep.
We restock the pit for each group and go though hundreds each week.
Old working computers for interactive activities in science center
Colorful posters for teaching the different types of plants and animals
Clean, dried skulls and/or furs of various animals like cat, dog,
mouse, rat, snake, squirrel, whale? Etc We have bear, wolf,
fox, cow, deer, wild pig, Dall sheep, wolverine, otter and bison.
Pine cones from every type tree that makes one to show kids that these
plants have a common designer not a common ancestor.
Wood samples, Cut 3” thick by 6+ inch diameter log sections from every
tree on the planet. We have live oak, pine, bristlecone pine,
river birch, hickory, cherry, pecan, maple, and camphire so far.
Lots of large and small pulleys and ropes for kids to build their own
mechanical advantage machines.
We will find a way to use most any miscellaneous science stuff that
would help us teach about the creation, Noah’s flood, etc.
Large and small display cases.
Hinges, hasps and 20 ‘keyed alike’ small or medium size locks for
displays that need supervision or protected.
Item to build for future science demos:
Cave crawler. This 10 foot cube
contains a 3D maze over 200 feet long! Kids crawl through and
have a blast! Plans cost $900, materials about $2000, labor to
build-$2000?
Viscosity demo- several sealed glass tubes of different fluids (various
oils, water. Alcohol, with ball bearings inside each tube. All
will flip over together in a rotating rack to time the balls falling
through the fluids to learn about viscosity of fluids.
Liquifaction tank. An aquarium? With a series of parallel
perforated tubes through which air or water can be forced to cause
liquifaction in the material placed in the aquarium.- get stuffed dead
fish, mammals, reptiles? To see if it will work in sand gravel, etc.
We need someone good with fiberglass to sculpt a scale model of Grand
Canyon about 8 feet long and 2 feet wide. Kids will plug the
canyon and the area over it with dirt and flood it to watch the water
erode the canyon quickly like Noah’s flood did 4400 years ago when the
real one formed. See my video #4 for ideas of what we are trying to
demonstrate.
Inertia demo- ramps kids can let balls roll down different slopes to
try to get the ball into a target.
Display cases/shelves for museum
Build full size T-Rex and other dinosaur models for field. About
$2-5,000 each.
We visit science centers all over the world to get ideas. We want
people of all ages to associate science with God’s marvelous creation
instead of evolution.
