Spencer's question of the week
The law of double jeopardy is an old legal protection, which prevents someone being tried twice for the same crime.
Queensland's Attorney General, Rod Welford, says new DNA techniques may unearth evidence of guilt after a person has been aquitted of a crime, and the law should be reconsidered.
Civil liberties groups are warning against any change to the principle of double jeopardy.
Should "Double Jeopardy" be dumped, so that a person could be tried more than once (for the same crime)?

Have your say in our guestbook. For example,
Donna popped by to say "Just wanted to say love listening to the ABC! My favourites are Peter Gooch (especially when Roly is on) and Spencer Howson. And can I say that I am a 34 year old sheila, loves cricket and rugby league. I hate Van Morrison, blue grass and head ban..."
