The distributions labeled "Small" contain the usual assortment of development tools and internet services.

The distros labeled "Large" contain pretty much a full-install - development tools, internet/database servers, and GUI/X windows pre-installed.

Plus, anything that's not found you can easily download and install yourself, since you're the root user.

*	GB is defined as being 1024 Megabytes - we don't skimp on the extra 24 MB
**	CMR - Committed Megahertz Rate is the minimum guaranteed amount of processing power, burstable to 100% of the host's CPU. There are other factors (like RAM) that limit contention ratio (see below) and actually make the minimum MHz much higher. Our load balancing distributes new Linodes to the least loaded server (in the plan's group). The actual minimum MHz is generally much higher than the CMR.
***	Contention Ratio - how many Linodes sharing a hypothetical 2.2 GHz Machine
