Submission guidelines

GENERAL INFO: There are three different types of HLT presentations:  papers, posters and demonstrations. There are separate submissions for papers, posters and demonstrations, and each submission must clearly indicate which it is for.  Authors may enter two submissions for the same work as a paper or poster and also a demo,  but work cannot be submitted both as a paper and as a poster.  The conference will include the diverse areas within HLT and preference will be given to submissions that will appeal to multiple fields. Submissions must be electronic, in PostScript or PDF; follow this link  to reach the web site for submissions.

Submissions for papers, posters and demonstrations are due on or before January 7, 2002.

Paper and Poster Submissions

Paper and poster submissions should be 3-4 page extended abstracts of the proposed presentation.  Submissions will not be read if they exceed 1500 words exclusive of bibliography. Extended abstracts must include enough information for the reviewers to judge the applicability and novelty of the work.

Demonstration Submissions

Submitted abstracts for demonstrations should be 1-2 pages and should not exceed 600 words; in addition, proposers are encouraged to include a screen shot or other illustrative figure. The submission should clearly indicate that it is a demonstration which is being proposed. Enough information must be provided for the reviewers to be able to assess the technical merit of the demonstration and its relevance to HLT 2002 interest areas. Typically, a demonstration will illustrate some novel technology or research system in Human Language Technology.
