Materials: Size 10 crochet cotton, size 7 steel crochet hook; stiffener; 12 inches of " satin ribbon.

    Beginning Cluster (beg cl):
Sl st into st or sp indicated, ch 2, holding back on hook last loop of each dc, work 2 dc in st or sp indicated, yo and draw thru all 3 loops on hook.
    Cluster (cl): Holding back on hook last loop of each dc, work 3 dc in st or sp indicated, yo and draw through all 4 loops on hook.
    Cluster Shell (cl-shell): (cl, ch 3, cl) in st or sp indicated.

Rnd 1: Ch 15, join to form ring, ch 1, 24 sc in ring, join. (24 sc)

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st and in next st, ch 3, skip 1 st, * sc in each of next 2 sc, ch 3, skip 1 st; rep from * around, join. (8 ch-3 loops)

Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same st and in next, ch 3, sc in next loop, ch 4, dc in 4th ch from hook, sc in same loop, ch 3, * sc in each of next 2 sc's, ch 3, sc in next loop, ch 4, dc in 4th ch from hook, sc in same loop, ch 3; rep from * 5 times, sc in next 2 sc's, sl st in next loop, ch 3, 5 dc in same loop, TURN.

Row 1: Ch 5 (counts as dc, ch 2), (dc in next dc, ch 2) 4 times, dc in top of ch 3, turn. Leave remainder of head unworked.

Row 2: Sl st into ch-2 sp, beg cl, (ch 3, cl in next sp) 4 times, turn.

Row 3: Beg cl in cl, (ch 3, cl-shell in next sp) 4 times, ch 3, cl in last cl, turn. (9 ch-3 sps)

Row 4: Sl st to ch-3 sp, (beg cl, ch 3, cl) in same sp, cl-shell in each sp across, turn. (9 shells)

Row 5: Ch 1, sc in cl, 2 sc in next sp, (ch 4, 2 sc in next sp) 8 times, sc in last cl, turn. (8 ch-4 sps)

Row 6: Ch 1, sc in next 3 sc's, * ch 3, sc in next loop, ch 4, dc in 4th ch from hook, sc in same loop, ch 3, * sc in next 2 sc's, rep from * to * once, sc in next sc, ** (cl, ch 3) twice in next loop, cl in same loop; ** rep from ** to ** 3 times, skip 1 sc, sc in next sc, then rep from * to * once, sc in next 2 sc, rep from * to * once more, sc in last 3 sc's. Fasten off and turn.

Row 7: Attach thread with sl st in ch-3 sp AFTER the first cl of previous row, beg cl in sp, ch 3, cl in same sp, ch 3, cl-shell in next sp, (cl- shell in next sp, ch 3, cl- shell in next sp) 3 times, turn.

Row 8: Ch 1, sc in cl, (2 sc in next sp, ch 3) 11 times, 2 sc in next sp, sc in last cl, turn.

Row 9: Ch 3, (cl-shell in next sp, ch 2, 2 sc in next sp, ch 2) 5 times, cl-shell in last sp, skip next 2 sc's, dc in last sc, turn.

Row 10: Sl st in dc and cl, beg cl in same cl, * ch 3, cl-shell in next sp, ch 3, cl in each of next 2 cl's; rep from * 4 times, ch 3, cl-shell in next sp, ch 3, cl in last cl, turn.

Row 11: Ch 1, sc in cl, 2 sc in next sp, * ch 4, 2 sc in next sp, ch 4, sc in each of next 2 sps; rep from * 4 times, (ch 4, 2 sc in next sp) twice, sc in last cl, turn. (12 ch-4 loops)

Row 12: Ch 1, sc in next 3 sc, * ch 3, sc in next sp, ch 4, dc in 4th ch from hook, sc in same sp, ch 3, sc in next 2 sc's; rep from * across, sc in last sc. Fasten off.

Finishing: Stiffen angel using your favorite method and pin out on top of waxed paper covered board. Let dry completely and attach hanging cord to top of angel. Tie ribbon into a bow around neck and trim ends as desired.
