The United Kingdom's Presidency of the European Union has now come to an end.

Austria takes over the Presidency from July to December 1998, followed by Germany in the first half of 1999. Finland will take over in the second half of 1999, with Portugal holding the first Presidency of the new millenium. The United Kingdom will continue to form part of the EU's 'troika', which consists of the current, former and next Presidency (ie. the UK, Austria and Germany), until the end of 1998.

This web site will remain active for the foreseeable future.
