The Canadian Baseball League’s inaugural season ended on a perfect note: A near-capacity crowd taking in one heck of an exciting all-star game in sunny 30 degree weather at Burns Stadium in Calgary on Wednesday night.
More than 5700 fans filed in to the park to witness a 6-5 Western Division victory decided after ten innings and one home run derby.
It could have been worse for the Saskatoon Legends (20-13) last weekend in Moose Jaw, SK when they lost three of five to the Calgary Outlaws . . . but not much.
The Legends, who were leading the Western Division before the series began, are now tied with the Outlaws and have to play the Kelowna Heat (16-17), a team just four games out of the race, four times this weekend.
