Please Note: Beatallica is NOT selling
CD's. I have heard reports that people are making bootlegs of these songs and
selling them.
Beatallica is FREE!
It is meant to be a gift, from us to you, so why let someone else profit? If you want to compensate us for the music, make some fan art, or a Flash video, or record your own tunes, and send them to us. Be creative! We love that shit!
(but please... if you're sending a file that's over 100 KB, email a link to the file rather than the file itself)
If you're having trouble downloading the songs, try the mirror site, or get the songs through Kazaa, WinMX, or some other p2p client.

NEWS
(7/19/03) Beatallica has graciously sent me some publicity photos, so in case you're curious what these guys look like...
And here's some fan art:
band portrait by a brick wall (thanks to Gammelsmurfen)
Beatallica on the Ed Sullivan Show (thanks to Jonathan from NYC)
CD front cover, back cover, and sticker (thanks to Adam)
Yellow Album (?) (thanks to Nilo from Brazil)
Beatallica on the cover of Life magazine (thanks to Rob from Italy)
(7/18/03) Beatallica are still in the studio; the guy who's doing the recording is also doing it for free, so he has to fit Beatallica into the cracks of his schedule. Vocals will be recorded at the end of July.
We received an interesting email from Marco in Italy. Lars Ulrich was interviewed for an Italian metal e-zine:
Q: On the internet Beatallica have a huge success: do you know them?
A (Lars): Yes, and I think they are great! I listened to "The Thing That Should Not Let It Be" and "A Garage Dayz Night" and I find them great! I even proposed them to Universal as Metallica b-sides for forthcoming singles!
Q: But theres the suspicion that Metallica hides behind Beatallica
A (Lars): No! We dont have their technique and enough time for such a crazy project!
So yes, Metallica have heard Beatallica, and no legal actions have yet been filed. About the "b-sides" that Lars mentions... no one has talked to me or the band about them at all. Draw your own conclusions.
One more thing.. we now have a copyright notice on the webpage (at the very end). This does not mean that you can't download the songs for free. Download all you want! Burn CD-R's for your friends! Just don't sell them, OK?
(7/2/03) The new tunes are coming together (right now, over meeee-ah!) nicely; drums are done, guitars are mostly done (they'll be finished tomorrow night), and Jaymz will be adding vocals next week.
We've just heard that an article about Beatallica was published recently in Britain's top newspaper The Sun. If someone can scan that article and send it to us, we'd appreciate it!
Giovanni's Flash video of "Sgt. Hetfield's" was so popular, it overloaded his server! So now we're hosting it... watch it here.
Some more fan art:
White/Black Album (thanks Cody)
Black Album (thanks PigPen13)
Garage Dayz Night CD cover-- front back (thanks DeviLoki from Brazil)
The Thing That Should Not Let It Be (thanks Laura from Mexico)
Some sort of Beatallica burnination (thanks Jake from UK)
A Sgt. Pepper's-style cover (thanks MiroN XII from Italy)
We've now received fan emails from every continent on Earth... except for Antarctica. So if you have friends at the South Pole, please tell them to write in!
Oh yeah, one more thing... Dokaka rules!
(6/6/03) A lot of news to cover today... Let's start with the big story, the news you've all been waiting for...
Beatallica are going into the studio next week!
Yes friends, the long-awaited second EP by Beatallica is finally coming to fruition. The new songs (and a new website) should be ready by early July.
Beatallica also request your help. We've been in conference lately about whether or not to sell merchandise through this site (t-shirts, keychains, etc.), and we'd like to know what you think.
So please take a second to answer our poll.
In other news...
Here's a Flash video for "Sgt. Hetfield's Motorbreath Pub Band" (thanks to Giovanni!)
More fan art: a Kill 'em All cover (thanks to BodyKnight), and two more by darkblack.
There's a lot more to report-- like the fact that Metallica themselves have finally heard the Beatallica tracks. More details to come!
Oh, one more thing... you can now reach this page via www.beatallica.org.
That is all.
(5/16/03) Wow! We've gotten over 10,000 hits in the last two days (we usually average about 300 a day), mainly due to an item in Blabbermouth, so to all you new Beatallica fans, welcome!
This recent surge in traffic also means that the server's gonna have to change to a dedicated T1 pretty soon, which should make the downloads a lot quicker for you guys. Stay tuned for further developments.
I also received this great piece of fan art. Thanks to darkblack!
By the way, if anyone out there feels like making a Flash video, that would be kick ass.
(5/3/03) So I spent Thursday evening tipping some brew with Beatallica while they ran through the rough drafts of the new tunes. Man oh man... you folks will not be disappointed! I won't give away too many details, but one of the new titles is "While My Guitar Deathly Creeps" and it's going to be massive. They are meeting again at the end of May, with recording slated for June.
KRK is still getting the tablature for the other songs ready. Hey KRK, if you're reading this, move your ass and give these headbangers what they neeeed-ah!
Yet more fan cover art, based on the Hard Day's Night cover can be seen right
here (thanks to Mike!)
(5/1/03) Got some more album art for you, thanks to SickBlade from Malaysia:
(4/26/03) I met with the band a couple days ago, and I'm pleased to report that they will be fleshing out the new songs next week, with recording soon to follow.
They're both very pleased by the massive amount of fan support they've been getting, especially those of you who have made logos and album art. So if you're looking for something to decorate your Beatallica CD-R, here are a few submissions (thanks to Florentine Pogen and Si Frost):
(4/4/03) The mirror site at rootthis.com has been discontinued for bandwidth reasons, but the fine folks at powerpop.org have graciously begun a new mirror, so go there if the download rates here are too sluggish for you. Rawwwk!
(4/1/03) OK... so the new Beatallica tracks aren't ready yet... It wasn't meant as an April Fool's joke; that was the date they had hoped for but didn't meet. Rest assured that they are working on the new tracks. Jaymz has finished the lyrics; KRK (or is it Larz?) is still arranging.
This past month has been very busy for the boys-- one just released a new CD from his band (one of two that he's in), and the other had to play out a lot during the month of March with his band and didn't have a lot of time to spare. We all apologize for the delay.
So to make it up to you metal/mop-heads, Beatallica is supplying tablature for the songs on the site. I've gotten tabs for "Sgt. Hetfield's" (just click on the TAB to the right of the song title above). More will follow shortly!
(1/31/03) So far I've gotten fan emails from these countries: US, UK, Iceland, Brazil, Israel, New Zealand, Germany, Belgium, Czech Republic, The Netherlands, Canada, Russia, Denmark, France, Australia, Ukraine, Sweden, Spain, etc etc etc. We've even had a visitor from the remote island of Niue.
Download all the mp3s, burn CD's for your friends, and spread the word!
(10/22/02): New songs on the way! Recently
talked with Jaymz, who informed me that Beatallica will be going back into the
studio to record new tracks. Some of the working titles:
"Got to Get You Trapped Under Ice"The Beatallica boys love fan email. So why not tell them how much they rock? (Link is to my email address, not theirs.)
"Leper Madonna"
"Blackened the USSR"
(4/4/02): Beatallica mentioned in Spin Magazine! April, 2002 issue, page 119.
Jaymz sends his greetings to all his new fans, and has this message for you: "Reload.... sorry..."
