Cowboy U premieres Friday, Aug. 29 at 9 p.m. ET/PT with four back-to-back episodes.
CMT escapes out West with six city dwellers for lessons in the life of real cowboys. In the new CMT special four-part series, Cowboy U, six city slickers get dumped on an Arizona ranch where they will have to compete against the animals, the elements and each other as they try to become real cowboys.

Only one will earn the right to be called "Cowboy."
Dotan Baer
Dotan Baer
Born in Jerusalem, Israel, and raised in the Midwestern United States, Baer spent three years with the Airborne Rangers in Savannah, Ga. He then attended Florida's Atlantic University, where he graduated with a B.A. in finance. This led to a highly successful career in Florida as a commodities broker. Baer likes to sing and play guitar, and he is actively involved in charity groups. In 1999, the Dotan Calendar was created to raise money for the National Children's Cancer Foundation. In June of that same year he was selected as Cosmopolitan's bachelor of the month.
Justin Rae Barnes
Justin Rae Barnes
Justin Rae Barnes comes from the small town of Lake Tahoe, Nev. At age 21, Barnes is the youngest of the six city slickers to try her hand at being a cowboy. Single and outgoing, she likes hanging out with her friends, most of who happen to be guys. She recently finished college and is working as a waitress while pursuing a career as a writer. Barnes loves movies and music and now loves the outdoors, thanks to Cowboy U!
Jason Ebs
Jason Ebs
Born in Camden, N.J., Jason Ebs was adopted at the age of 4. When he was 12, he got his first guitar and has been playing musical instruments ever since. After attending Penn State University, Ebs began pursuing a fulltime career in music. His accomplishments as a singer-songwriter- musician include singing for the band Criss (led by Peter Criss, from KISS) and playing guitar for Terri Nunn's Berlin. He has cut several records with his band Twisted Roots and can also be seen touring North America in a percussion group called Rhythm Extreme.
Drea Gunness
Drea Gunness
Drea Gunness grew up in a small town in upstate New Hampshire. She comes from a very close New England-style family that keeps up a tradition of getting together often and going on yearly trips together. Her interests in athletics began at an early age when her parents took her rock climbing, boating, horseback riding, camping and skiing. A tri-varsity athlete in high school, Gunness was very competitive and a true achiever. Not only did she play lacrosse and basketball, she was also on the school soccer team and ran track and field. She qualified for the state meet in high jump and went on to set a high school record that still stands. Gunness also kept busy as a waitress at a local restaurant and was a member of a social club that went rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking and camping. She likes to try everything and fears almost nothing. Gunness works as a fitness instructor and takes plenty of time to enjoy life.
Marc Heber
Marc Heber
Marc Heber is 24 years old and was raised in the city of Agoura Hills, Calif. He recently graduated from the University of Southern California, where he majored in Spanish and minored in business. Shortly after graduation, he interned for a major record label, eventually landing a job in their sales department. Aside from his work in music, he enjoys playing golf, driving his convertible and dating lots of women. Heber's paramount goals in life are to become a CEO of his own record label, marry a girl he has a crush on named Carmela and play on the PGA Tour with Tiger Woods.
Chelsea McElroy
Chelsea McElroy
Chelsea McElroy is a high-energy person who likes to work hard and play hard. She loves the outdoors, and her hobbies include hiking, roller-blading, wake-boarding and dancing. McElroy also enjoys shopping -- a passion which led to her new business venture. She is opening a women's boutique, Urban D'Va, in Portland, Ore., that will feature high-end workout wear and specialize in bringing California-style clothing to Portland.
