La Salle girls reign supreme

De La Salle-Zobel returned to its old deadly form and completed a six-game sweep of its matches claiming University of Santo Tomas as its last victim, 26-24, 25-11, to capture the UAAP High School girls' volleyball crown at the UE Recto Gym.

Just like in the old days, where the opposition seriously threatened La Salle, the Lady Archers showed composure and stressed their dominance in the sport introduced in the league in 1994.

It was the sixth title for La Salle in girls' volleyball, where the five they had previously won where also done via a sweep. The other three belonged to UE, which placed third with a 2-4 slate.

UST ended the season with a 4-2 record while UP is at the bottom of the field failing to win a single game.

The Lady Tigresses tried desperately to send the game into a championship match but failed to do so as they failed to match La Salle's power hitting spikes and quick plays.
