London (KurdishMedia.com) 09 September 2003: In a meeting between Kurdish representatives and British-US coalition forces in the Kirkuk Council office, it was announced that Kurds are free to fly the Kurdistan flag in Kirkuk, reported Anba Kurdistan online.
The representatives of the coalition forces were the deputy head of the coalition forces in south Kurdistan General Barber, and the head of the coalition forces in Kirkuk, William Miguel with a number of other US generals.
The Arabisation campaign of south (Iraqi) Kurdistan and security and the Kurdistani flag were the main subjects of the meeting.
The coalition forces announced that Kurds are free to fly the Kurdistan flag in Kirkuk, wherever they want and no one has the right to remove the Kurdistan flag or object this Kurdish right.
The Kurds have told the coalition forces that the Iraqi flag does not represent Kurds and Kurdistan and it has caused many atrocities to Kurds.
This meeting came after a group of US soldiers removed the Kurdistan flag on the request of Arab settlers and Turkmens in Kirkuk
