Kamal's film delayed yet again
The problems seem never ending. For the unit of the untitled Kamal Haasan film ('Sandiyar', earlier). The Madurai shooting was disrupted, and Kamal and crew erected a set at the Campa Cola grounds in Chennai, and a schedule took place without fuss. The unit then shifted to locations in Theni and Dindigul where some scenes were shot in the forest areas around. But in Dindigul however the crew ran into tecnical snags and were unable to identify the the kind of locations that would suit the script. The crew of about 150 have since reportedly returned home!
Sridevi to pair up with Dhanush
Sridevi is all excited. For she's got a chance to act with Dhanush, the talk of the town. Says she, "I'm acting with Dhanush in 'Devathaye Kanden' and it's a pleasure acting with him. He's so well behaved and quiet." Sridevi regrets that though she got a chance to act with Dhanush again in 'Puthukottayilirunthu Saravanan' she had to refuse due to a clash of dates. One can understand the teenage actress's excitement as there are not many young heroes around!
7G Rainbow Colony
Meanwhile Dhanush's brother director Selvaraghavan is at Hyderabad shooting for his second film. Titled '7G Rainbow Colony', it is produced by AM Ratnam ('Boys') and has Ratnam's second son, the 19 year-old Ravi Krishna as the hero. There were reports of Harini of 'Boys' playing the female lead. But now it's been confirmed that a new face from Mumbai will be paired with the debutant hero. Ratnam's 'Boys' may have earned a lot of flak, and turned a cropper at the box office, both in it's Tamil as well as Telugu versions. Hopefully 'Rainbow Colony', again made in both languages should be a better box office proposition, considering that Selvaraghavan is a brilliant screenplay writer.
'Hari goes ahead with
Director Hari is a hot proposition these days. After 'Thamizh', his Vikram-starrer 'Samy' was a big hit at the box office, and producers are making a beeline to his door. And there was even some talk that he would be handling the superstar's film too. But with Rajinikant not able to make up his mind, Hari is on with his other projects like 'Kovil' with Silambarasan and Sonia, and another film titled
Kiran continues to play glamour roles
While many of the younger heroines hesitate to act with the senior heroes, for fear of being slotted, there is one heroine who doesn't mind acting with the older lot. Kiran is comfortable acting with Ajit and Prashant and doesn't refuse roles with senior actors like Sharat Kumar and Vijaykant. Only, she's used more as a glamour doll in these films. Ask the actress about it and she says candidly, "It's what the audience want, and there is no harm in giving it to them!" And it's not that she's the only one to do it either!
