Coached by Ron Esthbrook at Chaparral High … a second-generation Longhorn who was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter as a prepster … started at defensive tackle and linebacker as a senior, linebacker as a junior and offensive tackle as a sophomore … helped lead team to back-to-back Arizona 4A State Championships in 1999-2000 and a 28-game winning streak … a first-team all-state, all-region and all-city selection as a senior … posted 110 tackles, six sacks, three fumble recoveries (one returned for a TD) and a 29-yard interception return for a TD that year … had 21 tackles, two sacks and a 29-yard INT return for a TD against Saguaro in 2001 … earned second-team all-state and first-team all-region and all-city honors as a junior … also named the Valley’s 2000 Defensive Player of the Year … racked up 157 tackles that year … top game of junior season was a 19-tackle performance against Saguaro … a first-team all-region choice at offensive tackle as a sophomore.

Born 3/16/84 in Edina, Minn. … also has lived in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Elko, Nev.; and Las Vegas … father, Robin, played linebacker at UT (1977-80) and in the NFL for eight years (Minnesota, 1981-85/Miami, 1986-87/Houston, 1988) … mother, Carrie, also attended UT … brother, Austin, currently plays defensive line for the Longhorns … a prep honor roll student … very active in community service projects … enjoys riding dirt bikes, camping and hunting in his spare time.
