IWF Announces Exciting New Partnership
The Independent Women’s Forum today announced an Affiliation with “Americans for Prosperity,” an organization that replaces the Citizens for a Sound Economy Foundation. The Affiliation agreement provides for staff and resource sharing between Americans for Prosperity and the Independent Women’s Forum. Nancy Pfotenhauer, president of the Independent Women’s Forum, will also be president of Americans for Prosperity.
“What made this so desirable,” Pfotenhauer said, “is that we have very similar missions. Each of us is dedicated to the spirit of free enterprise and self reliance and supports the principles of political freedom, economic liberty and personal responsibility. While IWF’s focus has been on a woman’s perspective on important issues, the partnership allows us to leverage each other’s strengths and build on each other’s successes.”
“Americans for Prosperity’s longstanding strength in grassroots mobilization with IWF’s media access and marketing is a powerful combination,” Pfotenhauer said.
She explained that IWF has been a leader in the battles to achieve intellectual diversity on campus, workable Social Security reform and workplace flexibility, to name but a few, while Americans for Prosperity works to promote and nurture the entrepreneurial spirit of Americans and help them keep more of what they earn. “Because of our shared vision and values it just made sense to establish this partnership,” Pfotenhauer said.
While the two organizations will share leadership and senior staff and be co-located in IWF’s new suite of offices in Washington, D.C., each will be a separate organization with its own board of directors.
“This is a very important time for us,” said Pfotenhauer. “We had come through a difficult transition a few years ago and were really hitting our stride after getting a major, million-dollar grant. Now, with this Affiliation we will achieve new levels of effectiveness at launching new programs and penetrating new markets and audiences because we will have more and better resources to make a bigger difference.”
