In a perfect world, an album like "Bring the Family" would be a #1 smash. Alas, I'm sure that this masterpiece was lucky to sell 100,000 copies when it was released 15 years ago. Some of the most moving songs I have ever heard are on this beauty, from "Learning How To Love You" (a song that probably applies to just about every marriage) to "Tip of My Tongue." Ry Cooder's slide guitar on "Lipstick Sunset" could melt glass. There is nothing close to a bad song here, and with stellar backing from the future Little Village (Ry, Jim Keltner and Nick Lowe) the accompaniment is divine. If you want to see what it takes to survive as you age and fall in love, buy this baby. You won't be disappointed!!!
