Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery is delighted to announce that we have secured the loan of the 'First World Cup' - The Sir Thomas Lipton Trophy for display within our forthcoming exhibition - THE HOMES OF FOOTBALL - Grounds for Appeal!
A unique selection of items chosen by Museums' staff & volunteers which will be on show from 22nd October until 22nd November 2003, at Rowley's House, Barker Street, Shrewsbury.
The Homes of Football - Grounds for Appeal! includes a selection of images from Stuart Clarke's "The Homes of Football" photographic art archive, illustrating the changing face of football, and also features treasured memorabilia on loan from the National Football Museum, including the old Third Division Trophy and a blazer worn by Billy Wright at the 1950 World Cup, as well as other private and public collections - some local, some not so - a treat for everyone, young and old.
Exhibition open : Tuesday - Saturday, 10.00am - 4.00pm
Extra time every Wednesday until 8.00pm ADMISSION FREE
