It's
a short ride by itself, (feel free to submit actual mileage) but it's on the
BST, so can be linked to City Creek to the West, and Dry Creek to the East.
To get there, turn up Terrace Hills Drive (900 East-ish?) from 11th Ave. The trailhead is at the cul-de-sac at the top of Terrace Hills Dr. Terrace hills Drive is a steep hill so you may want to park at the bottom to avoid a tough climb at the end of the ride. If you see anyone shuttling this hill, laugh and point and call them wimps. Besides the Terrace Hills Trailhead, there's plenty of parking where the trail exits onto the street (name?), on 11th Ave, and at the park on Terrace Hills Drive.
There are actually two trailheads in the Terrace Hills cul-de-sac. The both access BST, but the East trailhead is the most direct access to Bobsled. From the trailhead to the top of bobsled is a steady climb. The first real intersection you reach is the City Creek cut-off. Stay right. The next intersection is the top of Bobsled, which is the first right. Counter clockwise from there is BST, Twin Peaks trail up to the ridge (tough ride, nice view), a crazy steep jeep track to a peak, a trail into City Creek that is of limits to bikes (and not that fun anyway), and another crazy steep jeep track to another peak.206
The Bobsled descent is sort-of officially a one-way route, but this not posted. Hikers and bikers have been seen climbing the Bobsled, usually ready to hop off the path for you. Doesn't hurt to announce your approach to blind corners. This first steep, slippery, descent is the most advanced portion of the trail. Once you drop into the creek-bed, the trail smoothes out. Most of the obstacles have been cleared. Early season and after wet weather, the creek will be wet. Also later in the season Bobsled can get skidded up into a dusty, rutted, washed out mess. Please do your part to preserve this trail's condition, and don't skid! You will come to a 4-way intersection about midway down. Left or right routes quickly exit the trail, and straight continues the Bobsled. Good spot to wait for your group, check your bike, and blather on about what a blast your having. As you descend further, you come to one of the old junked cars. A fun obstacle for more advanced riders. Near the bottom, there is a small rock flood dam you pop over. Things can be pretty loose below that dam, and there is one little drop that has bucked some advanced riders. A one last climb up a bank ejects you onto the street. Hang a right to get back to Terrace Hills Dr.
