PCC offers many services to members to support their relationship with their partners and with other
partnered North American churches.
Fund Transfer
The UU Partner Church Council, in cooperation with the Unitarian Headquarters in Kolozsvár,
has developed a process for PCC members in good standing to transfer funds to their partner.
Please print, fill out, and mail the
UUPCC Funds Transmission Form,
along with your check. The form must be filled out completely.
You must be a current PCC member in good standing in order to use this process.
You should also separately write your partner church to tell them the funds have been sent
and for what purpose.
Funds are wired monthly from our Seattle bank to a bank in Hungary where they are received in US dollars.
Congregations and individuals in Romania are notified by Unitarian Headquarters in Kolozsvár
that funds have been received. Funds are distributed directly to the churches or individuals designated.
Receipt of delivery is sent to the Partner Church Council treasurer who in turn sends them to the original donors.
This process takes place every month and is reliable. The PCC assumes the bank fee in the US.
There are no other fees.
The PCC is in the process of determining the most effective system for transfer of funds from North American
congregations to Hungary and the Czech Republic. This information will be included in a forthcoming PCC newsletter.

PCC Chat
PCC-CHAT is a UUA-provided email list for Partner Church folk to share information with and ask questions
of a knowledgeable and interested audience.
Partner Church Council members in good standing may participate in the "PCC-CHAT"
e-mail discussion group. If you are an individual or institutional member of the PCC, we encourage
you to subscribe to PCC-CHAT.
To join PCC-CHAT, simply complete the
PCC-CHAT Subscription Request Form
to automatically generate and send your subscription request.
We encourage every individual PCC member who has a computer and email to sign up for PCC-CHAT.
We encourage each institutional PCC member to have AT LEAST one person sign
up for PCC-CHAT, to print out and share any relevant messages with their
local Partner Church Committee.

Obtaining Visas for Visitors from Romania
The PCC maintains contact and good relations with the US Embassy Consular Section in Bucharest
to assist member congregations in arranging visits to the United States for Romanian partners.
Information is presented here both in pdf format and as a
Powerpoint® presentation.
Important Note –
Since the inception of the PCC in 1993, we have enjoyed a close working
relationship with the United States Embassy in Bucharest. This has continued
even under the current appointees who last year approved all but 3 of our
applicants, and upon appeal, reversed those three cases.
Since the outbreak of the Iraq war, however, the situation has changed
dramatically. Every childless couple and unmarried young person who has
applied since the Embassy reopened after the start of the war has been denied
a visa. These include ordained Unitarian ministers who previously had been
routinely approved. I am attempting to arrange a conference call with the
Consul General to ascertain the situation at the Embassy and determine our
prospects going forward. Until such time as we have clarified the situation,
it is my recommendation that you not encourage your partners who fall into
the above categories to apply for new visas. (Individuals who have previously
visited the United States should be fine). They are very likely to spend $100
and 16 hours on the train only to be rejected.

The PCC now offers two maps of Transylvania for sale, with all profits going to the PCC.
Both maps give place names in Romanian, Hungarian, and German:

years, covers all of Transylvania. The scale is 1:500,000 and the map lists
cities, towns, and most villages. Cost: $15 US.
- Szekélyföld by Cartographia – the newer map, covers the Szekely area
where most Unitarian churches in Romania are concentrated. The scale is
