We are students from Yázigi Internexus and we are researching about the hippie movement, which has happened from 1966 to 1968. It was a revolutionary movement that eventually changed the world a lot. It was a turbulent time of great social and technological change: the assassination of JFK, unforgettable fashion, new musical styles - like Led Zeppelin, Janes Joplin, Bob Dylan - alternative communities, civil rights, gays and women's liberation, a controversial and decisive war in Vietnam, the first man landing on the moon, peace marches, World's fairs, flower power, great TV, film and sexual freedom. We think that they were right fighting against the system, since not only them, but also everyone, think the system is wrong. We know a person who has become a neo-hippie, he is sixteen, has hippies' ideas, such as his wardrobe and his points of views. As a result he became a better person, now he doesn’t think only about himself, in addition to this he loves nature. Although he is a hippie, he doesn't live like one of them: he is not an activist, he lives a capitalist life. From what we gather, neo-hippies and the original hippies are different: the original ones used to do what they preached, and the neo ones just advocate their ideas. The objective of our project is to learn about the hippie culture, their philosophy of life, the objective of that movement and more. We will make researches about the movement on the Internet, looking for hippies’ home pages and also encyclopedias. Here are some questions we created to learn more about the hippies and know your opinion about them. | |
