well first whats a strength base. You always have a strength base so 5 secounds is enough. But it depends how strong you want your strength base. you probably wont increase you squat to 2 times your BW in 8 weeks wich is said to be the base required for extreme intensity depth jumps. But a begginer in 8 weeks can really build a good base and good understanding of the exercises and muscles to be able to go onto some hardcore weight lifting.

any base is strong enough for plyos, it depends of how intense they are thoe. You can do all plyos includeing low depth jump at any base. Shock plyometrics from 40 inche boxes needs a base strength of 1.5-2 times bodyweight squat. This could take 1-4 years to develope depending on genes and how hard you train and how big you base is to start off with. But you would start off with less intense plyos befor you work up to 40 inch boxes, so i wouldnt worry,l when the time comes the time will come.

yes 8 weeks is plenty. Primus research dosnt eben require you to have any weight lifting exsperince. you should not stop weightliting thoe after 8 weeks.
