Looking Glass Unveils Next Flight Sim: Flight Combat: Thunder Over Europe

Looking Glass announced today Flight Combat: Thunder Over Europe, a WWII air combat simulation featuring air combat over Europe in the 1940's. The company also announced the launch of the official Flight Combat Web site (www.fctoe.com).

According to Looking Glass, Flight Combat: Thunder Over Europe features fully scaleable gameplay that will make it easy for expert and novice sim fans alike to play the game. Players will have an extensive choice of aircraft, including single-seat fighters and multi-stationed strategic bombers.

Flight Combat: Thunder Over Europe will also feature accurately rendered WWII scenery created by the company's proprietary terrain engine, authentic aircraft dynamics and flight models, a physics-driven damage system, weather effects, multiplayer support, major European historical and natural landmarks and moving ground objects.

"Flight Combat: Thunder Over Europe will put gamers in the pilot's seat of one of history's most dynamic air battles," said Constantine Hantzopoulos, Project Director at Looking Glass Studios. "The attention to detail and gut-wrenching action will make Flight Combat one of the most intense air combat simulations on the market this Fall."

The company also announced the launch of the official Flight Combat Web site, which offers a look at the game’s features, aircraft and screen shots. Visitors can also sign-up for the Flight Combat mailing list where they will receive development updates and information and have the opportunity to win prizes including a free Flight Combat t-shirt. Flight Combat: Thunder Over Europe will be published by Electronic Arts and is scheduled for a Fall 1999 release.
