Convention on the International Classification
of Patents for Invention (ETS no. 017)
Open for signature by the member States of the Council of Europe, in Paris, on 19 December 1954.
Entry into force : 1 August 1955. This Convention has been denounced by all Parties and is not in force anymore.
Summary of the treaty
The aim of the Convention is to promote a uniform system of classification of patents for inventions likely to contribute to the harmonisation of national legislation.
