Patriots Take On Panthers in Super Bowl XXXVIII
Tom Brady passed for 237 yards and a touchdown and Adam Vinatieri tied a postseason record with five field goals, as the New England Patriots posted a 24-14 win over the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship Game.

Jake Delhomme threw for 101 yards and a touchdown and Ricky Manning Jr. picked off three passes, as the Carolina Panthers defeated the Philadelphia Eagles, 14-3, in the NFC Championship Game.



Broken Wing
Philadelphia Eagles franchise quarterback Donovan McNabb suffered separated rib cartilage in Sunday's 14-3 loss to Carolina in the NFC Championship game at Lincoln Financial Field. McNabb suffered the injury late in the second quarter and played through the pain until finally being forced to leave the contest with 9:31 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Heavy Heart
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Brandon Stokley played in Sunday's AFC Championship game at New England. The Patriots won the game 24-14 and advanced to Super Bowl XXXVIII. Stokley was questionable after missing Wednesday's workout because of an undisclosed illness to his infant son, however, he did fly with the team Saturday afternoon.

Daniel Snyder coaxed Joe Gibbs out of retired to have a second term in Washington. Gibbs coached the Redskins from 1981-92 and won three Super Bowls.

Delaware Captures First I-AA Title

 
Colgate 0 vs. Delaware 40

Germaine Bennett and Antawn Jenkins each rushed for two touchdowns, lifting Delaware to its first-ever I-AA title with a 40-0 victory over Colgate at W. Max Finley Stadium.  The Blue Hens (15-1) won their first national title since capturing the 1979 Division II championship. That Delaware squad had a star linebacker by the name of K.C. Keeler on its squad. Keeler is now the Blue Hens' head coach.
