Welcome to the 'doghouse!

[Try Cyberdog] The 'doghouse is the "official" home of Cyberdog information! If you can't find it here...

   ...it ain't here!

[NEW!] - Hello you ole 'doggers! - I'm back again with another new site of interest (or maybe it is, if anyone's reading this page anymore ;) to any of you 'doggers out there. Brian Bruns contacted me recently and let me know he's put back online his web archive of the old newsgroups. You can take a look at them (posts from 12/98 forward) if you like from the new home of the Cyberdog Newsgroups Web Archive and browse around for some good old nostalgia.

I don't believe there's anyway in the web interface to jump to a certain message number in the archive (there are 8700+ posts included from cyberdog.general), but you can tweak the URL by hand to jump to a position in the list, and I'll include a starting point for the end of the list for your convenience. Enjoy! (And be sure to thank Brian if you use it.)

Important Y2K Information

Please read about the Y2K (Year 2000) Bug that has been found in Cyberdog's Mail and News parts. There is a patch program available for all English versions of Cyberdog 2.0 that will correct this problem. More information is available on the Year 2000 Help page.

[Apple: Think Different]

If you have ever wanted a simpler, more powerful (yet, just as free) Internet suite than anyone else offers, then Apple Computer has made the product for you -- Cyberdog!

General Info Links

Visit our helpful and friendly newsgroup, cyberdog.general at MageNet.net when you have questions or comments of any kind.

Furthermore, we encourage you to read what users say about Cyberdog!

You can also find out about this site.

Cyberdog Central!

Important Notice! -- Eric Anderson's Cyberdog Central pages are being added to this site. You can find these pages at the new Cyberdog Central URL.

I am still working to better integrate the information, to provide a more unified appearance. But, doing so takes time.

Thank you Eric for all the work you did on these pages over the last few years!

Cyberdog FAQ!

The Cyberdog Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) list is always in need of written contributions. You can find a number of questions with answers already, a few more without answers, and of course a call to help fix any errors.

Cyberdog (a product of Apple Computer, Inc.) is based on OpenDoc, a component-software technology. This allows you the user to determine how many--or how few--features your software solution really needs. In the case of Cyberdog, OpenDoc has been used to create a tightly integrated, resource-centric (as opposed to application-centric), and consistent set of tools for use in retrieving Internet content.

If you already have Cyberdog, then you may want to try out my example of Cyberdog-enhanced embedding (which uses frames). I think there is still some work (mainly adding more links) for me to do in making it my own personal, daily interface to the web. But it works well so far. Try it out and then come back here to comment via a Cyberdog embedding trick.
