I already have a network in my home. Will I be able to subscribe to
your service and use my existing networking equipment?
voiceglo will integrate with most networks easily as long as the network supports NAT (Network Address Translation) and DHCP. NAT is the translation of an Internet Protocol address used within one network to a different IP address known within another network. If your network does not support NAT or DHCP, you will have to add a router to your network.
Can I use multiple phones with a multimedia terminal adapter (MTA)?
Yes. Following are the four ways you can use multiple telephones with your MTA.
If you use a cordless phone system that comes with a base unit and extra
handsets: One MTA easily converts an entire cordless system (base station with
multiple handsets). Just plug the system base into the MTA and all the handsets
will be converted for use on voiceglo.
If you have multiple phones (corded or cordless) that are not part of the same
base station, you can convert the individual phones with one MTA as follows:
You can purchase wireless phone jacks. The base unit connects to the MTA and
the wireless jacks plug into your household electrical outlets. A telephone
connects to the wireless jack. Please note that only the phone attached to the
base unit will display caller id information. Also, there may be sporadic
dropped calls on the extension phones and an inability to talk on more than one
phone at a time.
You can purchase a multiple jack extension connector, and then connect it to
the phone port of the MTA. This will allow you to have multiple phones on a
single voiceglo line.
An MTA may be directly plugged into the existing telephone wiring of a home.
The manufacturer of the adapter does not recommend hooking anything to the
adaptor other than a telephone, but you can seek advice from an electrician or
someone who is familiar with internal telephone wiring on how to best connect
it to your current wiring to take advantage of multiple extensions. We would
advice that you pre-check the wiring on the jacks to make sure you don't have
live PSTN voltage on the jacks before connecting them to the MTA (this can be
easily done by using a line tester). Be advised that any damage resulting from
practices contrary to manufacturer's recommendations for the MTA will not be
covered by warranty.
My PC only has a USB connection. Will a multimedia terminal adapter
(MTA) fit into my network?
You will need to switch your high-speed Internet connection from the USB port to the MTA in order to use our service. You should also purchase a router to connect multiple extensions. Or, you can simply plug the USB phone; voiceglo sent you, into the second USB port on your PC.
If I have a broadband connection, like DSL, with only one physical
network connection, will I have to disconnect my computer to use the voiceglo?
Sometimes my voiceglo software/USB phone seems to disconnect or
become inactive. I'm not sure why this happens.
With voiceglo, you can talk on your phones and surf the web at the same time.
When using your traditional analog phones with a Multimedia Terminal Adapter
("MTA") you will need a home router or gateway to share your broadband
connection with your computer and your voiceglo service. Or, you can use our
MTA/Router combination to share your broadband connection.
Your voiceglo software refreshes its registration with the voiceglo system every 3600 seconds. If your computer goes into hibernation the phone loses its internet connection. Once the computer is again activated, you must shut down (close) the voiceglo webphone display on your desktop then restart it by clicking on the voiceglo icon on your toolbar.
When will I receive my free USB phone and/or purchased equipment?
Once you have activated your account the equipment will be shipped to you; it should arrive in 5 to 10 business days. The option of express delivery service is available.
My package arrived damaged, what should I do?

What technology does voiceglo use?
voiceglo uses a standard voice-over-IP protocol called "SIP" with patent-pending software that allows voiceglo endpoints to work on IP networks that employ address translations (NAT) and firewalls. voiceglo also uses advanced voice compression protocols to maximize voice quality and minimize latency over IP networks. In many instances, voiceglo's voice quality exceeds that available on PSTN or cell phone networks.
What is an "IP call"?
IP (Internet Protocol) calls are carried over the Internet without interacting with the Public switched telephone network (PSTN). There are no long distance fees for IP calls. Calls between voiceglo subscribers are IP calls.
