THE
METAL SLUDGE
2001 SLUDGEAHOLIC CHOICE AWARDS!

The Sludgeaholic Choice Award!

After a month of voting, the 2001 Sludgeaholic Choice Awards are over! This was by far our biggest year ever with some categories getting over 6,000 votes! Enough gibber gabber, lets get to the winners!

Who Is The Worst Band Of The Year? [6492 votes total]

1. Creed (1674) 26%
2. Staind (770) 12%
3. Linkin Park (660) 10%
4. Kid Rock (649) 10%
5. Slipknot (615) 9%
6. Aerosmith (523) 8%

11. Megadeth (183) 3%
12. POD (180) 3%
13. Disturbed (129) 2%
14. Godsmack (123) 2%

After coming in second place last year, Creed was finally able to pull it out this year and win Worst Band Of The Year! They basically ran away with this category. They join two time winners Limp Bizkit and Korn as winners of Worst Band Of The Year!

Fun Fact: This poll had the most votes than any other poll in Metal Sludge history!
Another stupid fact: The first year we had this category, we got a whopping 255 votes total! Wow, did we suck back then.

Who Is The Worst New Band Of The Year? [4924 votes total]

1. Beautiful Creatures (1025) 21%
2. Puddle Of Mudd (983) 20%
3. Drowning Pool (556) 11%
4. Tantric (481) 10%
5. Saliva (458) 9%
6. Adema (438) 9%
7. Mushroomhead (412) 8%
8. Colonel Parker (263) 5%
9. Soil (116) 2%
10. Systematic (98) 2%
11. Stereomud (94) 2%

No real surprise here, but it was a lot closer than we thought it was going to be. Puddle Of Mudd made a nice run of it towards the end, but Anthony and his fog machine was just too much for the Mudd Puddle to overcome! Past winners include Papa Roach, Jesse Camp, and Union.

Who Has The Worst Album Of The Year? [5324 votes total]

1. Aerosmith “Just Push Play” (1116) 21%
2. Kid Rock “Cocky” (884) 17%
3. Staind “Break The Cycle” (834) 16%
4. Kittie “Oracle” (516) 10%

11. Rob Zombie “Sinister Urge” (120) 2%
12. The Cult "Beyond Good And Evil" (64) 1%

Despite being legends, Aerosmith walks away with the Worst Album Of The Year. When the Sludgeaholics don't like something, they're sure to let you know, and they didn't like this record.  Who would have ever thought that one day Aerosmith would release such a disappointment? Oh well. Past winners of this award include Limp Bizkit and Van Halen.

Who Has The Worst Album Of The Year? [4773 votes total]

1. Warrant “Under The Influence” (938) 20%
2. Beautiful Creatures (802) 17%
3. WASP “Unholy Terror” (558) 12%
4. Judas Priest “Demolition” (437) 9%
5. The Last Hard Men (403) 8%
6. Dope “Life” (362) 8%
7. Mushroomhead (358) 8%
8. Quiet Riot “Guilty Pleasures” (265) 6%
9. Monster Magnet “God Says No” (244) 5%
10. Spike 1000 “Waste Of Skin” (128) 3%
11. L.A. Guns “Man In The Moon” (97) 2%
12. Hair Of The Dog "Ignite" (93) 2%
13. Halfcocked "The Last Star" (88) 2%

Warrant must have been "Under The Influence" of something when they came up with the idea for this CD. Beautiful Creatures started out strong, but the Down Boys showed them up like the pros they are! Past  winners are Jesse James Dupree and Slaughter.

Who Had The Worst Song Of The Year? [4194 votes total]

1. Creed "My Sacrifice" (973) 23%
2. Staind "It's Been Awhile" (854) 20%
3. Aerosmith "Jaded" (570) 14%
4. System Of A Down "Chop Suey" (382) 9%
5. Linkin Park "Crawling" (337) 8%
6. Puddle Of Mudd "Control" (238) 6%
7. Drowning Pool "Bodies" (215) 5%
8. Megadeth "Moto Psycho" (191) 5%
9. Buckcherry "Ridin" (133) 3%
10. Disturbed "Down With The Sickness" (115) 3%
11. Saliva "My Disease" (94) 2%
12. Ozzy Osbourne "Gets Me Through" (92) 2%

We're not going to bullshit you. Any category Creed was in, they won! People just hate that fucking band, but somehow they sell like 10 million albums a week, so somebody must be buying the shit. Either that or nobody wants to admit they bought their CD. Anyway, this is another Creed victory for Worst Song Of The Year. They always had a decent lead on Staind and were never in any jeopardy of losing. Oh yea, this is the second year in a row they've won Worst Song Of The Year.

Who Had The Worst Tour Of The Year? [4012 votes total]

1. Vince Neil/Stephen Pearcy/Slaughter/Vixen (941) 23%
2. Family Values (561) 14%
3. Music As A Weapon Tour (Disturbed, Drowning Pool, Adema, StereoMud (466) 12%
4. Pledge Of Allegiance Tour (SOAD, Slipknot, Rammstein) (424) 11%
5. W.A.S.P/Mushroomhead (384) 10%
6. Poison, Warrant, QR, and Enuff Z’Nuff (296) 7%
7. Aerosmith/Fuel (226) 6%
8. OzzFest (183) 5%
9. Bon Jovi (130) 3%
10. G3 (Joe Satriani / Steve Vai / John Petrucci) (120) 3%
11. Faster Pussycat/L.A. Guns (108) 3%
12. Extreme Steel Tour (Pantera, Slayer, Static-X, Skrape, Morbid Angel) (99) 2%
13. Megadeth (74) 2%

That photo of Vince up above pretty much sums up a Vince Neil show and shows you the effort Vince puts into it. Now add Stephen Pearcy, Slaughter, and Vixen, and you have the making for Armageddon! That tour sucked so much they even beat out Family Values! Now that's saying something.

And yes, that is Vince passed out in a chair after a hard day of drinking, womanizing, and golfing.

Who's The Most Overrated Band? [4126 votes total]

1. Creed (1530) 37%
2. Limp Bizkit (1116) 27%
3. Linkin Park (462) 11%
4. Slipknot (377) 9%
5. Papa Roach (255) 6%
6. 3 Doors Down (244) 6%
7. Beautiful Creatures (85) 2%
8. Buckcherry (57) 1%

No surprise here. Another Creed victory.  They're 3 for 3 so far this year! This is the second consecutive year that Creed has won this award. Pretty soon we'll have to call this the Honorary Creed Overrated Award.

What Band Should Call It A Day? [4161 votes total]

1. Kiss (1358) 33%
2. Aerosmith (587) 14%
3. BulletBoys (343) 8%
4. Warrant (263) 6%
5. Slaughter (254) 6%
6. Ratt (217) 5%
7. Enuff Z'Nuff (205) 5%
8. Motley Crue (156) 4%
9. Ozzy Osbourne (151) 4%
10. Skid Row (137) 3%
11. Quiet Riot (127) 3%
12. Bon Jovi (117) 3%
13. Faster Pussycat (82) 2%
14. Poison (78) 2%
15. L.A. Guns (48) 1%
16. Tesla (38) 1%

For the second consecutive year, Kiss has won What Band Should Call It A Day. Aerosmith and BulletBoys also made good showings.

Fun Fact: Last year Kiss also got 33% of the vote.

Who Is The Worst Singer? [4017 votes total]

1. Scott Stapp - Creed (1182) 29%
2. Stephen Pearcy (480) 12%
3. Vince Neil (387) 10%
4. David Draiman - Disturbed (349) 9%
5. Marq Torien - BulletBoys (289) 7%
6. Blackie Lawless - W.A.S.P. (246) 6%
7. Dave Mustaine - Megadeth (213) 5%
8. Joe LeSte - Beautiful Creatures (175) 4%
9. Jani Lane - Warrant (157) 4%
10. Joshua Todd - Buckcherry (149) 4%
11. Jizzy Pearl - Ratt (108) 3%
12. Taime Downe - Faster Pussycat (101) 3%
13. Bret Michaels - Poison (88) 2%
14. Ozzy Osbourne (77) 2%
15. Phil Lewis - L.A. Guns (16) 0%

Not even close. Scott Stapp had this award won hours after we put up the poll! Creed is now 4 for 4! And how many people can say they beat out Stephen Pearcy as Worst Vocalist? Not many! Scott has now joined past winners Fred Durst, Jonathan Davis, Marilyn Manson, and Mark Slaughter.

Who Is The Worst Guitar Player? [3729 votes total]

1. Anthony Focx - Beautiful Creatures (836) 22%
2. Ace Frehley - Kiss (484) 13%
3. CC DeVille - Poison (464) 12%
4. Daron Malakian - System Of A Down (422) 11%
5. Dan Donegan - Disturbed (330) 9%
6. Darrell Roberts - W.A.S.P. (273) 7%
7. Jeff Blando - Slaughter (189) 5%
8. Monaco - Enuff Z'Nuff (167) 4%
9. D.J. Ashba - Beautiful Creatures (155) 4%
10. Brent Woods - Vince Neil (117) 3%
11. Erik Turner - Warrant (96) 3%
12. Billy Morris - Warrant (69) 2%
13. Jason Hook - BulletBoys (57) 2%
14. Carlos Cavazo - Quiet Riot (55) 1%
15. Tracii Guns - L.A. Guns (15) 0%

Finally, Anthony Fogx, er, Focx, has been recognized for his guitar playing! Unfortunately, it's recognition for how much it sucks, but it's still recognition. He even beat out Ace Frehley & C.C. DeVille by an impressive margin.

Who Is The Worst Bass Player? [3573 votes total]

1. Dana Strum - Slaughter (1107) 31%
2. Gene Simmons - Kiss (516) 14%
3. Fuzz - Disturbed (485) 14%
4. Kenny Kweens - Beautiful Creatures (329) 9%
5. Chip Z'Nuff - Enuff Z'Nuff (214) 6%
6. Bobby Dall - Poison (213) 6%
7. Muddy - Colonel Parker (172) 5%
8. Mike Duda - W.A.S.P. (120) 3%
9. Jamie Hunting - Vince Neil/Union (113) 3%
10. Tom Hamilton - Aerosmith (105) 3%
11. Jerry Dixon - Warrant (103) 3%
12. Robbie Crane - Ratt (62) 2%
13. Rudy Sarzo - Quiet Riot (34) 1%

Dana Strum returns as a 2 time winner of Worst Bass Player of the year! Dana first won this award back in 1999, and Fieldy from Korn won it last year. Dana easily beat out his role model Gene Simmons by over 600 votes.

Who Is The Worst Drummer? [3449 votes total]

1. Blas Elias - Slaughter (540) 16%
2. Glen Sobel - Beautiful Creatures (465) 13%
3. Rikki Rockett - Poison (371) 11%
4. Mike Fasano - Warrant (358) 10%
5. Tico Torres - Bon Jovi (289) 8%
6. Bill Ward - Black Sabbath (227) 7%
7. Stet Howland - W.A.S.P. (225) 7%
8. Ricky Parent - Enuff Z'Nuff (189) 5%
9. Eric Singer - Kiss/Alice Cooper (176) 5%
10. Brent Fitz - Vince Neil (165) 5%
11. Joey Kramer - Aerosmith (161) 5%
12. Bobby Blotzer - Ratt (156) 5%
13. Frankie Banali - Quiet Riot (71) 2%
14. Steve Riley - L.A. Guns (56) 2%

Basically, Slaughter's rhythm section sucks! Blas Elias picks up his first Worst Drummer of the year award, and now joins Lars Ulrich and two time winner Peter Criss as drummers who couldn't keep time with a watch. But like "Wild" Mick Brown said to us about Blas, "But what he lacks in drum playing he makes up in girls that are young that sleep with him in the daytime."

Fun Fact: L.A. Guns members Phil Lewis, Tracii Guns, and Steve Riley all finished dead last in the categories they were in. People either think L.A. Guns are great or nobody cares enough about them to vote for them.

Who Is The Worst Solo Artist? [3720 votes total]

1. Stephen Pearcy (1029) 28%
2. Sebastian Bach (981) 26%
3. Vince Neil (508) 14%
4. Yngwie Malmsteen (472) 13%
5. Derek Sherinian (412) 11%
6. Ted Nugent (200) 5%
7. Ozzy Osbourne (82) 2%
8. Alice Cooper (36) 1%

For the first time in Metal Sludge history, Tommy Lee hasn't won this award. But that's only because he didn't have anything out this year and we didn't nominate him. But fear not, we're sure Tommy will be in the winner's circle again next year. Until then, this year's Worst Solo Artist belongs to Stephen Pearcy! This is Stephen's second win this year.

Fun Fact: Despite mass hatred by the Sludgeaholics, Sebitchian Bach has never won this award.

Who Is Most Likely To Smoke Crack? [3726 votes total]

1. Scott Weiland (1320) 35%
2. C.C. DeVille (809) 22%
3. Dan Spitz (497) 13%
4. Anthony Focx (422) 11%
5. Sebastian Bach (297) 8%
6. Jamie Hunting (203) 5%
7. Donnie Vie (98) 3%
8. John Kalodner (80) 2%

For this category, all our nominees are winners in one way or another. But there can only be one man at the top of that pile of crack, and that man is Scott Weiland. Scott didn't really have much competition and easily beat out C.C. DeVille.

Who Had The Best Feud Of The Year? [3708 votes total]

1. Anthony Focx vs. His Real Age (997) 27%
2. Dave Mustaine vs. Nikki Sixx (781) 21%
3. Sebitchian Bach vs. Skid Row (431) 12%
4. Bobby Blotzer vs. Stephen Pearcy (385) 10%
5. CC Banana vs CC DeVille (364) 10%
6. Gene Simmons vs. Peter Criss (252) 7%
7. Sum 41 vs. SR-71 (179) 5%
8. Rikki Rockett vs. Mike Fasano (175) 5%
9. Stevie Rachelle vs. Darrell Roberts (115) 3%
10. Dan Dryden vs. Rich Ward (29) 1%

Anthony Focx picks up his second solo win this year and his 3rd win overall!

Anthony had a brutal feud in September of 2001 with his age. He swore he was 26, when his age said he was 35. At the end, his age won out, Beautiful Creatures got dropped, DJ Ashba left the band, and their sales went even further into an abyss of nonexistence.

What Was The Stupidest Thing Of The Year? [3803 votes total]

1. 2 Words: Kiss Coffins (1140) 30%
2. C.C. DeVille charges fans for his autograph (664) 17%
3. Dana Strum takes credit for Metal Sludge's Labor Day shutdown (612) 16%
4. Eric Singer Joins Kiss and wears Peter’s makeup (456) 12%
5. Anthony Focx uses a fog machine during sex (373) 10%
6. Warrant Street Team Cheats On KNAC Poll (303) 8%
7. Jani Lane Working In A Kitchen (135) 4%
8. Mark Slaughter having an Estate sale at his house (61) 2%
9. Stephen Pearcy's drunk station ID (59) 2%

Everything we nominated in this category was pretty fucking stupid, but nothing beats out the Kiss Coffins that Kiss introduced last year. For $5,000 you can have a coffin, or a handy cooler for your beer! How does Shut The Fuck Up sound Gene?

Who Has The Worst Live CD? [3238 votes total]

1. Pretty Boy Floyd "Live at Pretty Ugly" (823) 25%
2. Bon Jovi “One Live Night” (609) 19%
3. Arcade “A/3 – Live & Unreleased” (584) 18%
4. OzzFest 2001 (460) 14%
5. Queensryche “Live Evolution” (191) 6%
6. Black Label Society “Alcoholed Fueled Brewtality Live +5” (170) 5%
7. Tesla “RePlugged Live” (165) 5%
8. Dream Theater "Live Scenes From New York" (141) 4%
9. Halford “Live Insurrection” (95) 3%

Take a good look at this Sludgeaholics. This is the only time you'll see Pretty Boy Floyd beat out Bon Jovi for anything!

What Metal Sludge can't understand is how 823 people voted for Pretty Boy Floyd when they probably didn't even sell that many CDs!

Kittie won this award last year.

Who Had The Worst Tribute CD? [2997 votes total]

1. Poison Tribute “Name Your Poison” (880) 29%
2. A Tribute To Bon Jovi “Covered Dead Or Alive” (590) 20%
3. Aerosmithsonian Tribute (499) 17%
4. Twisted Sister Tribute “Twisted Forever” (480) 16%
5. A Tribute To Ted Nugent “Bulletproof” (319) 11%
6. A Tribute To The Cult “Fire Woman” (229) 8%

"Name Your Poison" was a Poison Tribute CD put out by Perris Records, and if you purchased that CD, may God have mercy on your soul. If you didn't know this CD existed, then forget you even saw it and just scroll down and check out the rest of the awards.  Pretend you never saw this because you'll be doing yourself a favor.

People must not be into Poison Tribute CDs because last year, Bret Michaels "A Salute To Poison" also won this award.

Fun Fact: The Aerosmithsonian CD was also released on Perris Records.

Who Had The Worst Soundtrack, Compilation, or Greatest Hits? [3176 votes total]

1. The Best Of Winger (882) 28%
2. Kiss Box Set (774) 24%
3. Britny Fox "Best Of Britny Fox" (637) 20%
4. Black N Blue Greatest Hits (278) 9%
5. Aerosmith “Young Lust” Anthology (265) 8%
6. Rock Star Soundtrack (214) 7%
7. Great White’s Greatest Hits (126) 4%

10 years ago, Beavis and Butthead were slapping Winger around. 10 years later, it's the Sludgeaholics. "The Best Of Winger" wins Worst Soundtrack, Compilation, or Greatest Hits.

The Kiss Box set was in the early lead, but Kip and his teeth pulled out the win in the end.

Who Is The Lamest Independent Record Label? [2828 votes total]

1. Perris Records (1057) 37%
2. Deadline/Cleopatra Records (543) 19%
3. Spitfire Records (271) 10%
4. V2 (213) 8%
5. Koch Records (202) 7%
6. Portrait Records (201) 7%
7. Krazy Planet Records (190) 7%
8. Versailles Records (89) 3%
9. Sanctuary Records (62) 2%

Go figure, a record label that puts out "Name Your Poison - A Tribute To Poison" wins for Worst Record Label of the year? I'm sure you didn't see that coming...(Sarcasm mode turned off). Perris Records easily won this award from the get-go.

Maybe they can mention their win here in their blurry, half assed, Kinko's copied, black and white ads they take out in Metal Edge.

Fun Fact: Other winners this year, such as Warrant's "Under The Influence," Pretty Boy Floyd's "Live At Pretty Ugly," and the Name Your Poison CD were all released by Perris Records as well! Maybe that's saying something.

Who Deserves An Honorary FU Award? [3475 votes total]

1. Gene Simmons (802) 23%
2. Anthony Focx (616) 18%
3. Dana Strum (491) 14%
4. Dan Spitz (489) 14%
5. C.C. DeVille (271) 8%
6. Blackie Lawless (241) 7%
7. Stephen Pearcy (206) 6%
8. Vince Neil (199) 6%
9. Juan Croucier (94) 3%
10. Marq Torien (66) 2%

This has probably been long overdue. Gene Simmons finally wins an F.U. Award, courtesy of the Sludgeaholics! And after his recent interviews and actions, nobody deserves it more. The guy is fucking out of his mind.

So from the Sludgeaholics to you, Gene, here's a nice big

FUCK YOU!

Who Deserves An Honorary Super Balls Award? [3545 votes total]

1. Scott Ian (681) 19%
2. Dave Mustaine (605) 17%
3. Ted Nugent (562) 16%
4. Jani Lane (463) 13%
5. Alice Cooper (406) 11%
6. Rikki Rockett (388) 11%
7. Kendra Jade (210) 6%
8. Kevin DuBrow (101) 3%
9. Paul Gargano (88) 2%
10. Dan Dryden (41) 1%

Now this was a bit of a battle, as Dave Mustaine, Ted Nugent, and Scott Ian battled it out all month. In the end, everybody's favorite Jew came out on top! Scott Ian is the winner of the 2001 Honorary Super Balls Award!

Scott has won the award from Metal Sludge before, but this is the first time he's won it from the Sludgeaholics. Scott is now a two time Super Balls winner, which means that both his balls are SUPER!  The left nut and the right nut are both Super! Congratulations to Scott.

Previous winners include Jani Lane and Nikki Sixx.

Who Has The Album Of The Year? [3982 votes total]

1. Megadeth "The World Needs A Hero" (947) 24%

3. Betty Blowtorch “Are You Man Enough?” (364) 9%
4. Alice Cooper “Dragontown” (357) 9%

10. Saliva “Every Six Seconds” (171) 4%
11. Drowning Pool “Sinner” (72) 2%
12. Soil “Scars” (52) 1%

While Dave Mustaine missed out on the Super Balls Award, he didn't miss out on Best Album Of The Year! Megadeth is the second band in Metal Sludge history to win this prestigious award. The first band was Iron Maiden last year.

Megadeth returned to their roots on "The World Needs A Hero" and the Sludgeaholics backed it!

Who Has The Best New Album/Song By A Played Out 80s Band? [3146 votes total]

1. Tuff "American Hairband" song (745) 24%
2. Poison "Rock Star" song (742) 24%
3. L.A. Guns "Man In The Moon" CD (577) 18%
4. Quiet Riot "Guilty Pleasures" CD (374) 12%
5. Faster Pussycat "Valley Of The Ultrapussy" (237) 8%
6. Warrant "Under The Influence" (236) 8%
7. Danger Danger “Cockroach” CD (147) 5%
8. Every Mothers Nightmare "Smokin Delta Voodoo" (88) 3%

This was the closest contest this year! Only 3 fucking votes separated 1st and 2nd place! Three fucking votes! That's insane. Maybe people couldn't figure out which singer was which since they both look alike. Anyway, after all these years, Tuff finally gets the best of Poison by winning "Best Song By A Played Out 80s Band!" Unfortunately for Tuff, Poison still sold about 20 million more records and are millionaires, but who needs that shit when you can win an award from us, right?

Who Had The Song Of The Year? [3487 votes total]

1. Jamie Rowe/Metal Sludge "7-11 (Isn't Too Far Away)" (977) 28%
2. Ozzy Osbourne "Gets Me Through" (783) 22%
3. Disturbed "Down With The Sickness" (441) 13%
4. Linkin Park "Crawling" (285) 8%
5. Sevendust "Praise" (262) 8%
6. POD "Alive" (257) 7%
7. Drowning Pool "Bodies" (195) 6%
8. Puddle Of Mudd "Control" (154) 4%
9. Saliva "Your Disease" (133) 4%

It started off as a simply parody to "Heaven" and was written about Jani Lane's new job in a kitchen. Next thing we know, Guardian singer Jamie Rowe actually recorded it and it became the smash hit of the Fall! Even some radio stations played it! Metal Sludge & Jamie Rowe beat out some of the biggest songs of the year! We need to put out a CD.

By the way, this was the first year we had this category, so it's an honor to be the first recipients of this award.

Here are the lyrics to the Song Of The Year!

7-11 (Isn't Too Far Away)
by Metal Sludge

Got a menu in my hand, and the specials are on the door
The placemats looking faded and my oven mits pretty worn
I see the kitchen that I work, it's right here in the back
The burgers are a flippin and pizza's on the rack

Now I used to be the king of the world,
Now I'm just the hero of this hungry girl.

7-11 isn't too far away, closer for me every day
No matter what my friends might say, I'll find a way

How I love to cook that food, serving sandwiches with fries
My secret recipe's a fruit tart dish, disguised as cherry pie
When I come home late at night, dish pan hands in tow
I think of 1989, as I start to sink so low

I don't need to be no Wolfgang Puck
As long as you don't tell me that my cooking sucks!

7-11 isn't too far away, closer to me every day
No matter what my friends might say, I'll find a way

(Guitar Solo)

Now the lights are going out, in the main dining room
The dishes are piled oh so high as I grab the mop and broom
And when no one wants to tip, and no one really cares
I don't know what I'll do
But I'm never giving up on food.

This was never even close! Scott Ian easily won Rewind Of The Year and had the biggest margin of victory in this year's awards! Scott had more than 1,000 votes over second place finisher Kevin DuBrow.  DuBrow and Butch Walker battled it out for 2nd and 3rd place, with Kevin just barely beating out Butch.  Eddie Ojeda also made a good showing, going from Worst 20 Questions last year to 4th Best Rewind. Now that's an improvement!

Who Had The Best 20 Questions Of The Year? [3417 votes total]

1.  Dave Mustaine - Megadeth (729) 21%
2.  Ted Nugent (477) 14%
3.  Alice Cooper (440) 13%
4.  Jani Lane - Warrant (247) 7%

9.  Kip Winger (93) 3%
10. Steve Stevens - Billy Idol/Vince Neil (55) 2%

Another Megadeth victory! Dave Mustaine easily walks away with Best 20 Questions of the year! Ted Nugent and Alice Cooper also put in impressive efforts.

This category and our Worst 20 Questions of the year both had 50 nominees, but we are only showing the Top 10.

Fun Fact: Danger Kitty's Michael Diamond had the least amount of votes with 1!

Who Had The Worst 20 Questions Of The Year? [2993 votes total]

2.  Dan Spitz - Ex Anthrax (661) 22%
3.  Anthony Focx - Beautiful Creatures (607) 20%

9.  Dave Mustaine - Megadeth (51) 2%
10. Mitch Allan - SR71 (32) 1%

At one time, all 3 of our top 3 finishers were in the lead, but Kip Winger's shitty ass answers were just too much to beat. It was obvious after reading Kip's 20 Questions that he had no idea what Metal Sludge was about and really doesn't have a sense of humor.

Dave Mustaine was voted Best 20 Questions but also finished 9th as Worst 20 Questions, while Ted Nugent finished 2nd for Best 20 Questions and 6th in Worst 20 Questions. And even though Kip won this award, he finished 9th for Best 20 Questions! How the fuck could 93 people vote for Kip Winger as Best 20 Questions of the year? I guess that means we have 93 Sludgeaholics who smoke massive amounts of  crystal meth. This just goes to show that what some Sludgeaholics love, other Sludgeaholics hate.

Fun Fact: Danger Kitty's Michael Diamond also had the least amount of votes in this category with 2.

Who Is The 2002 Sludgette Of The Year? [3302 votes total]

1.  Brittany & Starla - December (635) 19%
2.  Helena Handbasket - April (603) 18%
3.  Stephanie Pierce – June (456) 14%
4.  Melissa Rose – October (348) 11%
5.  Chantel Covino - January (323) 10%
6.  Emy Doyles - August (269) 8%
7.  Shernan Fanconi - November (171) 5%
8.  Lori Seidenberg - March (163) 5%
9.  Jenny Hoffman - February (108) 3%
10. Tiger Naegele - May (86) 3%
11. Brie Moser-Omholt - July (83) 3%
12. Christine Snyder - September (57) 2%

In what some have said to be an upset, Brittany & Starla, our dual Sludgettes for December 2001, defeated favorite Helena Handbasket to win the first ever Sludgette Of The Year! This was very close, but Brittany and Starla managed to beat Helena by only 32 votes!

Being Sludgettes Of The Year, Brittany & Starla both win the CDs of their choice, some Sludgendise, as well as $100! That is, $100 total. We ain't giving them both $100! Shit, they can split it, or they can get into a pool of Jello and fight over it. And if that's the case, please send us the pictures of that.

Our second place winner Helena wins $5,000 though!

Just kidding. Wouldn't that be funny though?

Actually, if for some reason Brittany and Starla cannot uphold their Sludgette Of The Year duties, then as runner up, Helena will take their spot. So she has that going for her. If she wants to do a Tanya Harding and take out Brittany and Starla, then that's her business.

Congratulations to Brittany & Starla, and look forward to a new layout from them coming soon!

15. Steve Ponchaud – January 2001 (23) 1%

Not really a surprise here!

Jim Bob Dwarf has done so much for the page, the Sludgeaholics thanked him by voting him the 1st Sludgeaholic Of The Year!

Here are Jim Bob's accomplishments so far:
Winner of the 1st Metal Sludge Scavenger Hunt!
Winner of Metal Sludge's 1st Ebay Auction and won a Blowtorch CD!
Did 20 Questions with Jani Lane, Ricky Parent, and Rudy Sarzo.
Did Rewinds with Chip Z'Nuff, Donnie Vie, and Jani Lane.
He was molested backstage at a Poison show in Tampa, FL.
He went to Billy Morris' New Year's Eve partying and actually got to witness Jani Lane filling up the buffet table!

And probably some other shit we're forgetting.

So what does Jim Bob win? He wins a nude massage from Ricky Parent, $100 in unmarked bills, and a Guitar Pick pack!

If for some reason Jim Bob cannot fulfill his Sludgeaholic Of The Year duties, 2nd place runner up Pop Rockett will take his place. And the only way 3rd place runner up OverMuch will be Sludgeaholic Of The Year is if Jim Bob and Pop Rockett can't do it, so OverMuch has his work cut out for him.

Congratulations to Jim Bob Dwarf from the entire staff at Metal Sludge!

So that ends the 2001 Sludgeaholic Choice Awards!  Congratulations goes out to all the winners!  And thanks to everyone who wasted 15 minutes of their lives and voted in our stupid awards.  See you next year!
