Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa! How does this one look for you guys....

Yeah I know it looks crappy. I did it in MS Paint. But oh well, the Yankees are going to get Alex Rodriguez. Guess I'll just have to live with crappy design skills and the two best shortstops in the game. I feel for Sox fans, I really do. I don't usually pay as much attention to the Sox as you guys do to us but this was just too much. That anger must be boiling over right about now. I don't really think this is good for baseball what with the Yankees having a $200 million dollar payroll and 6 of the 12 highest salaries in the game. Not to mention they have sacrificed the farm system and two great young players in Nick Johnson and Alfonso Soriano. The AL East isn't even a lock next year. Oh well! People are not going to like me on Monday morning at work. OK, I've had my fun. I guess I'll just have to show some class like a true Yankee and let the winning do the talking. (I'm still smiling by the way.)

P.S. Did anyone notice that Xavier McDaniel was coaching a SlamBall team? What's that all about? Go X-Man!

    Hey ya

Maybe when Andre 3000 was telling us to "shake it like a Polaroid picture" he was trying to get us think about energy independence. Do some research on that.

    Here we go

People have probably already seen the Kerry photo (yeah, that's him 17 rows back) with Jane Fonda that is being pushed around by Limbaugh and others so I won't post it here. I thought Burnt Orange Report had a good rebuttal to that showing Bush at Bob Jones University during the 2000 campaign. That says a lot about our country when a "Massachusetts liberal" is deemed unelectable while that man can win (the electoral vote :) ) after visiting such a place. BlogCritics, as I pointed out, has the best take on it with the classic picture of Don Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam. Well done. I think this goes up there with your all time greatest backfires.

Of course, over at BOR, there are like 17 comments going back and forth over whether Kerry is a good guy or not. And Bush is a draft dodger and Kerry might have slept with an intern and .... OK, now that we've got all that out of our system can we stop it now. Who gives a rat's ass?

As long as we don't have to hear about any issues right! It's already bad enough that legitimate issues have to get swept aside because the media picks out one or two and decides that that is going to be what the election is all about. Now we can't even talk about those issues. I know I just bashed Bush the other day for being a complete moron but can we ignore the stupid tabloid crap that is bound to start piling up in the news. Yes, I know I am making this plea to a combined 10 people (if you are counting on your fingers and have a couple left over and think that you should bring that to my attention, go ahead and I'll ban your god damn IP address smart ass). It just doesn't matter.

    Finneran Amendment

The voting results on the Finneran Ammendment to define marriage as a union between a man and a woman. Where is your rep?

A Yes vote was in support of Finneran's amendment.
A No vote was against it.

    Text of Finneran's amendment:

"It being the public policy of this Commonwealth to protect the unique relationship of marriage, only the union of one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage in Massachusetts.

This article is self-executing, but the General Court may enact laws not inconsistent with anything herein contained to carry out the purpose of this article, including but not limited to, the enactment of laws establishing civil unions as may be defined by the General Court from time to time."

First off, I know I'm in Massachussets but it still amazes me how many Democrats there are in this list. Secondly, my rep voted against this amendment so that makes me happy. I'm going to call or write to thank him. You should too. I almost wish I was in one of the districts that voted against it so I could rail on them. (I wonder what this would look like if you laid it out geographically - lot's of N's in the east and Y's in the west?). It's like that all the way up to the national level for me. None of my representatives really disagree with me on social issues. John Kerry, Ted Kennedy and Barney Frank - not much to complain about on the social front.

I know I haven't said anything about the issue here or in general on this blog. My reasons for supporting gay marriage are an entire post all together. Finneran is trying to compromise here by opening up the law to allow civil unions and I respect that. But this is going all the way in either direction - neither side is going to settle for a compromise. It has come to a head and this is where both sides are going to fight their battle.
