DoubleDrive live in Australia

DoubleDrive Split

It is all over for DoubleDrive. The band from Atlanta has announced their split.

"Thanks for everything" they say at their official website. "You've been an amazing group of individuals and we all appreciate what you've done for the band and can't imagine what you must be thinking. We're not sure either. As there are no immediate plans for anyone in the band I think it's safe to say we should all land on our feet and continue making noise in whatever projects emerge".

DoubleDive formed in Atlanta in 1996. Worldwide recognition started to buddle earlier this year when they released their album 'Blue In The Face' through Roadrunner Records.

The band played their final show in Atlanta on Saturday night. At their website message board one fans posted "I was at the show in Atlanta...their final show tonight. Words can not describe how amazing it was. I had gotten there early and talked a few with Mike and Donnie, and they are so sweet and nice guys. They played until 1:30 in the morning. No one wanted to leave. There was a great crowd, and everyone showed their love and support of dD. I don't know about everyone, but when they played 'Million People' I cried my eyes out. I was in the front row just boohooin'. It was just an incredibly and heartfelt show. They will be missed so much."

DoubleDrive's 'Blue in the face' sold 27,000 units in the USA according to Soundscan.
