Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. has made and continues to make substantial investments in computer hardware, software and training. Our offices located in Boston, Washington, DC and San Francisco are linked via a wide-area network. Our CAD department features Pentium IIII machines with AutoCAD 2004 for drawing and dimensioning. Softdesk for creating, cataloguing and manipulating construction details. SGH currently operates AutoCAD 2004 on Windows 2000/XP. In-house output devices include laser-jet printers and color plotters.
SGH makes extensive use of three-dimensional rendering, animation and photo editing. These methods allow complex engineering models of dynamic events to be more easily communicated to clients and others.
SGH utilizes specialized engineering programs for analysis and design of structural components. Programs currently used include NASTRAN (static, modal, response spectrum, dynamic, nonlinear and design optimization modules), Staad3, SAP90, and MathCAD, as well as numerous other proprietary software programs. SGH has written numerous programs for analysis and design, including SPIDA (pipe-soil interaction), PIPECAR/SIDD (buried reinforced concrete pipe), BOXCAR (box culverts), UPD (design of pre-stressed concrete pipes), and 3EB (three-edge bearing analysis).
Michael N. Kushakji, our MIS Manager, would be happy to hear from you.
