It's alive! A view of a Springfield intersection that is.

Grey Tuesday

dangermouse_thumb.jpg So, Grey Tuesday was an international success. Several hundred sites participated, either by turning grey or by hosting the album, even in the face of threats from EMI. I hope everybody has had a chance to score the Grey Album, or at least have a listen, if not you can learn more and score yourself a copy by finding links at Grey Tuesday.

Although we are a long way from more rational copyright laws, protests like Grey Tuesday will surely continue and will serve to increase public awareness that there is a problem that needs to be dealt with.

CAUTION! DANGER! ALERT!

rofl.jpgLadies and Gentlemen, I give you the RIAA's new warning sticker! Lovingly composed and implemented with your best interest in mind, it is sure to strike fear into the very hearts of those engaged in mass replication and distribution of pirated intellectual property. Overseas cartels that make millions every year selling pirated movies and music will now cower at the warning sticker!!!
We are offering T-shirts in M,L,XL
$20 includes shipping.

And as always remember: It is better to try and patch a broken system that has no hope of ever being effective, than to apply resources to the discovery of an economic model that will benefit everybody.

Group Project!

Would anybody be horribly offended if we participate in a little protest? I just want to go grey, but not mirror the album. I don't want to deal with the tech baggage that comes along with it.
The Grey Album is probably the best piece of modern pop/rock/hip-hop since Nevermind and EMI is trying to shut it down for no reason other than to "protect" its copyright on the White Album.
Please give it a look and a listen and then let us know if you are okay with a little statement.

Now you can help indie artists and...

Fuck corpo-globo-mega-corp at the same time: MacMerc.com: How to never lose Pepsi's iTunes giveaway
I am actually advocating the purchase of music from old school eighties rockers. They are mad poor now and need all the help they can get.
Props to boing boing for their vigilance.

Hey You Guys!!

Greetings from the tundra. It's been 20 below zero the past few nights. In case you've never experienced such weather, the moment you step outside, the snot in your nose freezes. Not very pleasant. I'm planning on returning to Missouri for memorial. It's either that or drive up to Canada and hang out in Vancouver for a few weeks. We shall see where the ball drops. I miss everyone and wouldn't mind a phone call every now and again. The sounds of your voices are slipping from my memory, even though your smiles still remain.
