Hi there, thanks for visiting my site. I hope you find something of interest here. I have had little time lately to update this site, also little new information, but I have know begun again to research, there will be new information to see in the next few days as I am waiting for various certificates ordered through ONS, including Kettle and Head information. I am also beginning my childrens tree. The surname I have is Laidlaw from Gateshead Co. Durham, more information to come soon..

Take a look at the Robins page as I have new information on that line too, going back before 1783. Do any of you have a Robins line in London around 1800 with the occupation of a Tailor? If so please email me.

• Looking for Soper family

This is my great grandad Henry Charles Soper. Henry was an electric tram conductor in London in 1921, he lived at 59 collier street Islington with his wife Alice Soper nee Seabrook (below) and his son Henry John Soper (my grandad b 1921). I have traced another son of Henry and Alice`s, Charles Frederick Soper b 12/1924. Still looking for Alice Booth nee Soper Henry and Alice`s daughter.

• Alice Seabrook

Does anyone recognise Alice? Born around 1893 her family lived in Islington Kings Cross area for many years before this photo was taken. The names Peter and Rhonda/Rhoda or somthing similar were connected to her family, probably siblings or aunt and uncle. If you recognise either of these photos please contact me, I am Alice and Henrys great grandaughter and would love to hear from you.

• William Walter Sopers family

Exeter Devon

William W Soper was born around 1867/8 in Exeter Devon,  ancestors unknown at this point. He probably had a sister who married into the Reynolds family while in Exeter.

William married Alice Brown, presumably in Kings Cross/Islington before 1894.

• Maurice Argent and Ethel Fuller London to Canada

Many years ago two illegitimate children were born into my family in London. They were adopted by other familys, the Argents and the Fullers, never to be seen again by their family.

Maurice was adopted by the Argent family in Kilburn London.  He emigrated to Australia as a young man, he ran a postal service using camels.  I have found a reference to the death of a Maurice Argent aged 69 years, Parkville Australia  1976. This is probably my Maurice. I have yet to find his marriage, it is quite possible he stayed single.

Ethel was adopted by a Fuller family,  they originated in Walden Sussex, moving to Eastdean and then Eastbourne, again both in Sussex. Their address on the 1901 census is  24 Norton Road Eastbourne. Connected families include Loughborough and French.  I have the basic tree from around 1830 onwards. If anyone has information that may help me in my search for the descendants of Maurice and Ethel,  I would be execptionally grateful to them for passing it on. There is a slim chance that Ehel is still alive, it would be wonderful for her to know who her parents were. Ethel has a sister who is still with us, also many other relatives who would love to be in contact with Ethels family.

• My searchable Family Tree

Some time in the next few days my family tree should be up and running.

Please feel free to take a look. You may find relatives on here. At this point in time it consists of 252 people, with over 30 surnames.
