Recipe: BRAISED BANANAS

Ingredient
1/3 Cup (2/3 Stick) Butter
3 TBS Fresh Lemon Juice
6 Semi-Firm, Ripe Bananas
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
1 TBS Cinnamon And Sugar
1 Cup Grated Coconut (Toasted or Raw)


Cooking instructions:

Heat skillet to medium-high-Add 2T of the butter melted. When butter begins to bubble and brown-Add Peeled bananas. Carmelize (brown) all sides (5-8 minutes) remove and hold in 300-degree oven in baking (Ceramic) dish. Add remaining butter, lemon juice and brown sugar. Stir until bubbly. Add cinnamon and ginger. Add glaze to bananas, top with coconut.

NOTE: Earth Fare will hold a Children First benefit, Tuesday, September 30 at 6:00-PM in their community room. It is a unique opportunity to teach children something new while benefitting Children First. The group recently took cooking classes at Earth Fare and will cook the food for the benefit.
