Description: Close image of McGoey seated at controls of airplane, taken from side, showing also wings and engine behind him.
Biographical Note: McGoey immigrated from Ontario, Canada and settled at Grand Forks, N.D. in 1887. He was the first North Dakota resident to pilot his own airplane, making his successful flight on July 12, 1911.
