Amnesty International launches campaign to stop violence against women: Invitation
Panellists at the press conference will outline this pervasive human rights abuse. Looking at its causes, its global extent and will talk about the new campaign which includes a particular focus on violence against women in conflict and in the family.
WHO:
- Irene Khan, Secretary General of Amnesty International
- Eve Ensler, V-Day Founder/Playwright
- Andile Gaelesiwe, survivor of violence, singer and activist, will join the press conference via simulcast from South Africa
- China Keitetsi, campaigner and former child soldier from Uganda
- Dr. Sima Samar, Director of Afghanistan Human Rights Commission
- Patrick Stewart, actor and Amnesty International supporter
