Farewell General Motors Tour

The Rail Appreciation Association Victoria is conducting a farewell "tour" to General Motors railway station on Friday 26th July 2002.

M>Train services will cease to stop at the station, which served the large General Motors Holden plant located opposite for years until the factory
closed in 1991.

We invite you to join us as we take a trip to Pakenham and General Motors via train, with opportunities to photograph the last down service to stop at General Motors.

There is no charge, however a copy of tour notes and history can be purchased for $2.

We plan to meet at Dandenong station at 15.00, and board the 15.13 down Pakenham service, travelling to Pakenham. From there we will board the 15.53 up service, travelling to General Motors. The last down service to stop at General Motors arrives at 16.37, allowing plenty of time to set up tripods and cameras! The last up service departs at 16.42, which we plan (and hope!) to be on.

An informal dinner is planned somewhere in Dandenong afterwards for those interested.

People interested should indicate their interest (or direct any questions) by emailing raav@pbdig.net, and please indicate whether you want a copy of the tour notes so we know how many to print.
