A NEW FOCUS -  3/31/2004
LOCKPORT - Lewiston-Porter junior Alicia Keppler found her inspiration in some rotten apples in a muddy field near her Ransomville home. Williamsville North sophomore Cara Hartzel used her uncle's temperamental old camera and the wrong color markers for "Hand Colored Apples."

Fighting to the top -  3/31/2004
Chris Martinon was barely 11 years old when she pleaded with her parents for permission to take up boxing. Her mother said no. Her father, a former professional boxer in Mexico, said no way. It wasn't until Chris took her request to a higher authority, her grandparents, that her father agreed to teach her a few moves.

Schooling - at your computer?! -  3/31/2004
For those who've never heard of online schooling, you're probably like, "What?!" Then you get this picture: You're in your pajamas, at, say 1 p.m. Doing your homework while playing your favorite computer game, you glance at the homework your teacher has assigned you, save it onto your computer, and then go back to your game.

Danger Mouse turns black and white to shades of gray -  3/31/2004
When Jay Z calls himself the "greatest rapper alive" it isn't an idle boast. It's hard to argue that he isn't the greatest. Since the release of "Reasonable Doubt" in 1996, Jay Z has probably put out more classic lines than any MC alive. With the release of "The Black Album," Jay steps out of the spotlight at the top of his game.

Gone like a ghost -  3/31/2004
Ever wish you could become invisible and disappear? Well, 14-year-old Danny Fenton can do just that. Thanks to a freak accident in the Fenton family laboratory, Danny's been able to transform into Danny Phantom, the only ghost-human hybrid. He can fly, become invisible, shoot energy blasts, and save the day!

Rocking with Klear at Club Infinity -  3/31/2004
We're really fortunate when it comes to Buffalo's local music scene. There are so many local bands, you can find a show just about any weekend, and most times they draw a pretty good crowd. At the Klear show at Club Infinity on Saturday night, the area's support for a local band couldn't have been any more (pardon the pun) "klear." Klear's first show in Buffalo in eight months, an all-ages show, attracted a large crowd of teens and adults.

One man's story: Because we must remember -  3/31/2004
"Always be proud of what you are. Only then will you be respected." In any other situation, these words would be dismissed as just another sermon, another teacher's attempt to instill self-esteem in her students. However, in the auditorium at Immaculata Academy on March 22, every ear was listening to what the speaker had to say.

The kids have a voice -  3/31/2004
I am a 14-year-old freshman at Lafayette High School, and I am one of many teenagers who is sick of not being listened to because of my age. Just because I am a teenager does not mean that I do not have insight about political issues like the war in Iraq.
