JavaScript for Languge Learning

Welcome!

This is the beginnings of the JavaScript for Language Learning Web Site... Although there isn't much here yet, we think already you will find some helpful resources and we hope to expand the site significantly in the next couple of months, so please check back on our progress...

What is this? This is a web site we are developing to serve as a major resource for language teachers interested in increasing the interactivity of their web pages through the use of JavaScript. It is presented by the Division of English as an International Language and the Intensive English Institute at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

In our work developing resources at the LinguaCenter Website for use by our students and others we have found JavaScript to be a valuable development tool for providing interactivity. Nevertheless, although there are others working with JavaScript for Language Learning, we have not yet found a central resource dedicated to the topic and thus the development of this site.

What's Available Here?

We plan to develop and maintain the following categories of resources and may add others later. For the moment, most of the following links will take you to pages we developed for the FLEAT III Workshop we presented in Victoria, British Columbia on August 13, 1997. Eventually those pages will be updated and moved, so please be sure to come back to this page to stay in touch...
