Welcome to the unofficial USS Taluga (AO-62) web-site. I haven't been able to find an official site. I served aboard USS Taluga from 29 July 66 until 29 September 67 when I was separated from the navy. I had previously served aboard another oiler, USS Kennebec (AO-36). You may remember me as the disbursing clerk aboard both ships, DK3 aboard Kennebec and DK2 aboard Taluga.

One day in the fall of 1999, I came across a Web site which mentioned one of the ships - USS Taluga (AO-62) - I served aboard in the navy. After thinking about it for a few days, I decided to create a Web page for each ship in hopes that some of my former shipmates would see the pages, sign my guest books and bring us up to date on their lives. Anyone who ever served aboard the ships is welcome to sign the guest books and get a listing on the Crew page.

In May 2000, I received a microfilm of muster rolls for the ship in 1967. After going to the library and printing many pages, the ship's crew list has a pretty complete list of men who served with me.

Did you know there have been Taluga reunions since 1989? The majority of attendees served during World War II. Due to the deaths of so many WWII vets, 2001 will be the first "All Eras Taluga Reunion." Go to the Reunions page for more information!
