Convention-week detours eyed

The major alternative routes for traffic detoured from Interstate 93 during the Democratic National Convention will probably be Route 128 and the Ted Williams Tunnel, shifts that would pack tens of thousands of additional cars onto those roads.

Kerry can't recall being at '71 parley

Senator John F. Kerry said through a spokesman this week that he has no recollection of attending a November 1971 meeting of Vietnam Veterans Against the War at which some activists discussed a plot to kill some US senators who backed the war.
With Sen. John Kerry's presidential nomination all but official, the buzz turns to who he will pick as his vice presidential running mate. Take a look at some of the possible candidates.
