Battalion - Year and Title
- 1802 - The Inverness, Banff, Elgin and Nairn Militia
- 1804 - The 10th Inverness, Banff, Elgin and Nairn Militia
- 1833 - The 76th (Inverness, Banff, Elgin and Nairn) Militia
- 1855 - The 76th Highland Light Infantry Militia
- 1881 - 2nd (Militia) Battalion, The Queens Own Cameron Highlanders
- 1897 - 3rd (Militia) Battalion, The Queens Own Cameron Highlanders
- 1908 - 3rd Battalion, The Queens Own Cameron Highlanders (Special Reserve)
In 1908, the Militia ceased to exist as such, and was reorganised as the Special Reserve still, however, attached to the regular scottish regiments. Previous to 1881, the Militia were not connected to any of the regular army regiments.
