Looking for parents and siblings of William Shirley,b. ca 1780-90 in Virginia, died Oct. 28, 1845 in Carroll Co., MO. 1st married August 17, 1813 in Hardin Co., Kentucky to Milcah Howe b. Oct. 17, 1790/91, d/o John Howe and Rachel Pindell Howe. Giving Virginia as the birthplace of William Shirley comes from the 1880 census for his son John that states his father was born in Virginia and mother in Kentucky. However, until KY became a state, it was considered to be a county in Virginia. Milcah and William have a child, Nancy b. May 22,1814 and is it assumed that Milcah died shortly after as William remarries June 4, 1815 in Perry Co., Indiana to Nancy Froman. Between 1830-1833 move to Dubois Co., IN, then in 1845 the William and several of his children move to Carroll Co., MO, where William dies abt. Oct, 1845.
